Hats off to WB for continuing to support 3D so universally. I can only hope that once theyíre bored with rolling out Harry Potter 1 in 3D across the world for anniversary screenings, they see fit to release a special 3D Blu-ray edition. A man can dreamÖ
I know the previous two 3D releases were available at Walmart so its not quite on-line only. Expect very little from the 3D for this murky movie but I'm getting it regardless.

What do you mean by "murky" movie. Are you talking about the 3D quality? What's wrong with it?

I think they are referring to the muted contrast inherent in the cinematography.

Typically such pictures don’t translate into very effective 3d because of the relative reduction in video information that affects the perception of depth.

No, the cinematography. Pretty monochromatic too. Mostly empty rooms. .Arrakis must have a gray sun.

meh, i'll be keeping my french 3D+4K steelbook pre-order. 3D titles from warner are expensive af, even long after release. it'll be $50 for the french steel including shipping. where as the US 3D release will cost me around $40? but has no steel or 4K disc, eh

Interesting that the German 3D release date is in less than a month while the US release is in mid-January….I’m keeping my German 3d order so I could watch it in time for the December holidays.

Are you in Canada? Walmart in the US has not carried 3D discs in stores in a very long time. Walmart in Canada continues to carry Warner 3D releases in stores since they are not MOD in Canada - they are regular, wide-release discs.

Wasn't the German theatrical release several weeks before the US? That would explain the earlier disc release dates there.

Where did you get $50? I have mine preordered but itís Ä50 which is $56.

I really like the design on the French steelbook if it is final, but if it comes out 6 weeks earlier in Germany and is cheaper to order from there it might be hard to justify the expense.

I am glad to see both a 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D release for Dune for the United States market. However, I wish the 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D were bundled together for a extra $5-$10. In the United States the 4K Blu-ray version of Dune is $29.99, then the Blu-ray 3D version is an additional $34.99. It would have been ideal to have a bundle for around $40 with both 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D, that would also take up less shelf space.

Pre-order has been live on Amazon France for weeks. But it has been on and off for the last couple of weeks because it goes out of stock, which I guess means there are more pre-orders than the amount allocated. It's been the number 1 seller in SciFi discs for weeks now.

I'm in the UK so the pre-order has never been live for me. Amazon France and Germany do not currently allow UK customers to place pre-orders until about a week ahead of release. It was the same with Godzilla vs Kong.

This is a strange turn of events given the UK used to be one of the few places where 3D blurays were still being sold….yet now it seems the UK has become one of the few places where the 3D blurays are not offered for sale—even worse than the US….seems very odd.

Although I have travelled around, I am more or less resident in the UK. You can see from the attached screenshot that I ordered the Dune 4k/3d combo in October and that was from the UK. I did the same with Godzilla vs Kong beforehand.

It's just out of stock, this is the number 1 selling SciFi disc. But it will probably open back up again at some point before delivery day.

I is tempted to buy the US 4K and US 3D blu-ray and match up the 4K slipcover with the 3D cover art work and make a kind of night/day 3-Disc custom set
