Did you know that the World Cup is the most popular sport on the planet and is watched by half the globe's population?

What is your favorite team; USA, Canada, France, England, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, ...?
Which team is gong to win on December 18 for the final; Brazil or Argentina vs France or England?

I remember the threads for the last two WC in 2014 and 2018 participation from users here was pretty much cut in half (over 2200 posts in 2014 and around 1400 in 2018), it was a huge drop. This year no one opened up one and we are already on the last day of round of 16...

I am surprised too. Better late than never ... the best is yet to come.

The World Cup is the biggest entertainment sport on the planet; it is bigger than Avatar and Gone With the Wind flicks together and more. Home theaters with a big screen are the perfect places to socialise, sharing food and beverages, and having fun in front of a soccer game during the World Cup.

It is more popular than Football, than Baseball, than Basketball, than Hockey, than Ice Dancing, than Dancing with the Stars, than Tennis, than Golf, ... all joined together.
I'm not talking USA, I'm talking the World.

I'm a big fan of Lionel Messi, so I cheer for Argentina.

That would be swell to see Argentina vs France in the final. ...We'll see.

I've never seen a soccer game. It doesn't interest me. I think that interest is definitely not what it was. I used to see cars with flags of their country of choice. This year I think I've seen one car. Enjoy the rest of the games.

theres definitely less interest because of where it is, and how it became a host nation, but Ive enjoyed how france, brazil, Portugal and england played. Those are my favorites in that order too. Id love to see a brazil-france final, think they're the two best teams.

Because I'm an irredeemable anglophile Id like to see england do well, but I'm afraid france is too much, even though I wouldn't say england is too far from them. Its a 60-40 for me.

holland should beat Argentina in a high tension game. Obviously Id prefer to see a brazil-argentina semifinal, but I don't think Argentina is a very good team.

brazil should beat croatia quite comfortably, and Portugal morroco, which would leave these semis:

brazil-holland
france - Portugal

I mean football is a really tough game to predict but those are my thoughts. I think a brazil france final would be great because of the quality of players on display. mbappé vs neymar.

It's all fine. Some people don't like to watch a chess match between champions; I used to frequent chess tournaments. There too it had a lot of action recently if you follow the major news in the world of chess.
Golf, I grew up on a golf course.
Car racing, I rarely watch, but on occasions.
Soccer World Cup is simply the biggest event on planet Earth. It is full of emotions.

France is a strong team.

I disagree, I prefer the games on Saturday which is why I am happy I am working on Friday and have off on Saturday

It's just that they are after Friday, that's all.

But the game where my interest is the biggest is the one on Friday; Netherlands vs Argentina.

yes they are all good teams that play on friday but I am just not a fan of the teams that play on friday, aka I could care less which two teams win. At least on Saturday I will at least have a preference in the teams playing.
