I'm hopeful after meeting with Panasonic Canada top execs at our Christmas party recently that the Panasonic OLED sets will see North American dates at CES this year. No confirmation, but I'm trying to read between the lines. Fingers crossed.

It's nice to dream about, but the early evidence points to EU only: http://www.forbes.com/forbes/welcome...URL=&referrer=

Panasonic isn’t yet willing to talk pricing on the 65-inch 65EZ1000, but I can confirm that it will be available in Europe (it’s not currently planned for the US) from June 2017.

Since they use LG's panels maybe there is some agreement between the two companies about distribution. Territorial rights maybe.

Panasonic did not speak about OLED TVs at the press conference, but after the news conference I did speak with the Home Electronics VP about bringing 2017 OLED TVs into the USA. We'll have another one-on-one meeting in Newark, NJ USA Headquarters shortly.

Panasonic does have the 2017 65" OLED on display at the show floor.

No further updates at this time. So unlikely for the USA.

Just for a good read, here's today's Flatpanelshd's article on Panasonic's 2017 EZ1000 UHD OLED display.

interesting read....doesn't sound like Panasonic really wants to make tv's anymore thus the one model, Europe only, overpriced OLED. Too bad for Panny fans like myself.

I know how it feels as a Pioneer fan. Like I was saying, stick a fork in them.

Yet another sad day for Audio/Video enthusiasts

I guess LG wins by default

I'm sharing your pain my friend ................... I don't know what I'll do when my plasma panels finally kick the bucket

The executives and representatives who keep leading folks along are making the reality that much more painful to accept. At least Panasonic will be booming in the battery business.

And they still make Blu-ray players, even 4K ones, and THX certified too, like their plasma TVs of yesteryears.

Suffice to say, Oppo is my goto brand for Blu-ray players now (and has been since the BPD-83), though it seems those will also become obsolete soon.

I don't know Vinnie. Like right now for example, make the void, empty your mind for a moment, forget all the greatness and ugliness from the past, travel in the now space zone, fall back on Earth, today, not tomorrow. Which brand would you buy, Panasonic?
Like I said, make the void, Pioneer Elite Kuros are things from the past, Pioneer Blu-ray players too, Pioneer doesn't have a 4K BR player...yet. Denon and Marantz neither. But Panasonic has the 900 THX certified. Good lookin', solid engineering, well cooked, good performance video and audio wise. Would you say, matching a Panny 4K TV with it?

Yes I know, you just said Oppo is you goto brand for BR players. Like the other millions of us, I included. Did you purchase the 203?

I did indeed put my money where my mouth is. I still have yet to buy any UHD discs, however. THX certification seems like little more than a badge. Can't say that I miss it on the ZT60. I'm not disputing it's a nice player nonetheless...at least it can be bought domestically.

I could care less for their disc players

That company won't get another dime from me until ...................
