Default Movie collection cataloging software

I've been using DVD Profiler. Is there a better one and supports the Mac OS X?

GCstar is a free open source application for dealing with your accumulations. Point by point data on every thing can be naturally recovered from the web.

I suspect that the decline in physical media will mean most of these movie collection applications will go out of business pretty soon.

I'd look for one that also keeps track of download media purchases, on the chance that this will mean they'll stick around longer.

while i do agree that physical media IS on a decline, i do think that it will still be around for a while.

and i think that when digital media overtakes physical media and it goes the way of the cd (see wal-mart, best buy, et al), then we may see a shift to a digital media collection program, much like dvd profiler (which i still use and update).

What about https://www.collectorz.com ? It includes books and other objects.

Nevermind - each kind of object costs another fifty dollars. That's highway robbery!

i used to use that one. but when they started charging those outrageous prices, i gave it up.

it started out as a pretty cool thing. it let you categorize movies, games, and music. but then they branched out and got this idea to start charging WAY too much for their service and then separate things.

just....crazy.

i paid for the full version of dvdprofiler, but it's a one time cost and i can add my own stuff, like games, if i want.

I've been using MyMoviesPro for years, but they recently rolled out version 2, and it doesn't seem like people are enthused about changing over to it. How's your experience with version 2 been?

I assume that DVDprofiler works to catalog blurays as well. That being said, is this a web-only or is it a downloadable program that has an online presence it sync's with?

it does dvd, blu-ray, and 4k.

you download it onto your computer or mobile device (phone or tablet...or both...or all 3).

you can sync your movies from your computer to your mobile device and vice versa. if you input something on one device, it shows up on the other(s). also, you can do a backup to your computer in case something happens. and then restore it from that backup.

the app isn't free, though. it costs $2.99 (which isn't too bad). and then you have to pay for the downloaded version on your computer, as well.

they used to have it to where if you downloaded the computer version, you could get the app for free. it doesn't seem that way, anymore.

still, it's a great program and i really like it.
