Default Wii Shop Channel ending

There are several games only on the Wii Virtual Console that never came over to the Wi U Virtual Console. The Wii Shop Channel is ending in 2019. The video lists all the games.

The music was so damned catchy. Really makes me wish they go whole hog on the Switch but as time goes on I don’t think theyll have one as robust as the Wii.

The timing to all this couldn't be worse and they're cutting off new purchases in March. Just great.

I'll have to take a moment to check on Ebay which ones are getting gouged to death, so I at least have a proper alternative. I'm sure nabbing Ogre Battles and Super Mario RPG will do the job of robbing somebody of a sale. : )

Friendly reminder: adding points via creditcard will end today/tomorrow.
Which means it will be basically impossible to buy games (unless people still have points and/or point cards)

Don't forget about WiiWare! Anybody who hasn't played Let's Catch and Muscle March hasn't lived.

Thanks! Reading your post convinced me to actually boot up the ol' Shop Channel one last time. I knew it was closing but wasn't sure I was actually going to bother... And I just spent $40...

Actually points cards won't work either, according to what I just read on the channel.

Oh man I spaced the date! I have 2 Wii’s that I wanted to download a bunch of VC games onto for my son and I totally spaced the date. Dad fail. We really wanted MARIO 1,2 & 3. The old Mario karts and Metroid. So sad

Well, there are always... legally-questionable methods to play them on Wii.
