One option to consider, is that you can be logged into a service more than just once.
So for example, I have a friend I can trust. If my FandangoNow account is activated on his streaming player (a Samsung for example), he can watch my MA titles there. I can be in another city, and still use FN myself on another device (a Roku). Now, Vudu limits the log-ins to 5(?), not sure what the limit is for FN. But that, off the top of my head, is one way to share (without creating an extra MA profile) my MA collection via FN. It depends, of course, on whether you trust that person or not (i.e. they will have to use your FN password to access FN) |

I saw someone on a different site "gift" their MA library to another user by linking their Vudu account to the person's MA account. And then once the content transfers, unlinking again. I guess you have to wait 6 months to relink a service though?

If I remember right there was once a crack-down by Disney based on the previous DMA linking. But yes, you have to wait 6 months to relink the MA account to any other Vudu account. |

With the Family Share method each person is still using their own Apple/iTunes account so the normal per account limits apply. |

Just a quick update. As I stated before, I haven't purchased anything from Google other than free TV episodes in years, so it didn't hit me until early this morning, but the payment method I had associated with Google had expired. I updated it, and it still didn't want to work, but I tried again about 10 minutes later, and this time, the titles became shareable again. Thanks for letting me know it wasn't working correctly, as I have 908 MA movies, and probably at least a third wasn't marked shareable (not that it matters since they're not being shared with anyone, but just in case, it now works). |

Sadly this thread seemed to have died a horrible death. I do greatly miss the UV sharing from yesteryear, while it didn't include Disney and its subsidiaries it did include Paramount, Lionsgate, MGM, and several smaller studios. And with Disney Movies Anywhere I could at least get my, at the time nearly 100+ Disney movies to other services. Now I am lacking about 1000 movies between the non-participating studios and and an average of a dozen movies per participating studios that just aren't eligible.
Now with Movies Anywhere having its own app on TVs activating through a code not password sharing is nice and allows me to focus on connecting accounts for easier movie buys while price comparing. Though I am not much of an Apple user, redeemed a few codes there when you could redeem in multiple places or to get UHD upgrades early in the DMA and MA days. I would connect it to a family members iTunes but all of them depend on me for movies so they don't have anything that would benefit me. Would love to have sharing again so I could gain movies more quickly (and cheaply). Any ideas? |
