Default Buying a new tv

Hello,

There has been some very good deals on tvs lately. So I’m deciding to buy a new tv. I currently have a 2014 70” Vizio P-Series that’s in my living room, which has a good amount of natural light. I’m also thinking of getting a smaller tv. Not sure, since I might regret it. I watch a lot of movies, sports, stream content, and play Xbox one x. I would appreciate your assistance.

I’m looking at:
Sony 900f 65” or 75”
Vizio P-Series Quantum 65” or 75”
Sony 950g 65”
TCL 6 series 75”
Lg OLED b8 65”
Samsung Q60r 65” or 75”
Samsung Q70R 65” or 75”

Default Don't go smaller

75" Sony 900f would be my recommendation. But P series quantum and Q70r are good tvs too. 900f should have better motion for sports, better upscaling, and better overall picture for movies. Samsung is supposed to be slightly better for gaming, and P series quantum is a little brighter with better color volume.

Sony has a very aggressive sale on the 75" X900F for $1,999, but it ends tomorrow!

Money comes from Sony and expires tomorrow.

Yes you will regret it because, when people buy a new TV for their living room they upsize, not downsize, unless they're buying it for a bedroom, or a den. Since you've already have a 70", you definitely don't want a smaller screen.

Do you do most of your viewing with the light coming in? If so you might want to discount OLED and go for one of the brighter QLEDs or similar.

I'd also recommend going for a good number of dimming zones. Local dimming artefacts annoy the hell out of me.

I have a similar setup, but do a lot of my movie watching at night so OLED made sense for me there.

Personally, the 900F, while gorgeous on many accounts, has super aggressive blooming. You may be better off with the Vizio P Quantum.

Great current prices on Sony successor two years hence.

75" X90J, around $1600.
