Default TCL 2021 6 Series or Sony X90K?

Getting one of these in 75 inches and can't decide which one. Will likely be using both as a dumb Tv. TCL seems to have the better specs and value but there are little things abut the TCL that annoy me. Advice?

Follow your instincts because, it's there for a reason. If you feel any kind of apprehension and uncertainty about the TCL, then go with the Sony.

I'd do the Sony for better local dimming, and what I perceive to be a better chance at longevity.

Good luck with your choice.

It's possible TCL is still having a panel lottery problem because the reviews on Best Buy are rather low (it's also entirely possible TCL is getting hit with review bombing from verified purchasers)

I'm likely getting the TCL, unless the Sony comes down again in price over the next couple weeks

A consumer would be paying more for a Sony TV vs a TCL because Sony is a better quality TV. The TCL may be cheaper, but the quality is not as good. Personally, I would rather pay a few more dollars for a better quality TV, than a cheaper TV that you'll may have a lot a problems with. Do extensive research on the TCL that you're contemplating on buying, and compare the two.

$1,799 is the current sale price for Sony's 75" X90K 4K HDR TV and it's a very aggressive price for this premium class new TV. I think we will see a surprise sale just before labor day.

That's a very good price. I should've waited before I bought my 65" LG OLED a few months ago.

Love your LG OLED TV.

Sony's X90K is a very excellent TV, and likely best in it's price range. But the X90K is a full array locally dimmed LCD/LED TV that isn't fair to compare the image quality and performance of an emissive OLED TV, especially in low ambient light.
