I don't even care if there WERE a 4K 3D, but it'd be nice to have the color benefits of 4K with it. |

It took a ridiculous amount of effort to find out my transmitter/active glasses use the ZigBee frequency (Optoma and Estar). How about coming up with standard symbols or color coded glasses symbols on the packages to show compatibility between devices and the glasses. Oh, I need green or blue coded glasses to work with my TV or projector.... It might still have been confusing but it could have worked better. Oh, you have a Panasonic TV? Those will work with Yellow coded (for passive glasses) or Red coded (for active RF glasses). Oh, your Bit Cauldron transmitter has a blue color coded glasses symbol on the box- you need blue coded glasses. It could have been made as easy as seeing if you needed AA or AAA batteries for the new toy and not a major research project to buy expensive glasses and irritate/alienate your customers. Absolutely right. There should have been a standard where all active glases were compatible with all active sets., including simple bluetooth connectivity. We now know that was easy to do by the many generic brands working with all sets. Not familiar with passive glasses so didn't know discrepancies existed even with them. And if televisions with the 3D feature do again come to market, let them all be by agreed upon standards as best as possible. |

Actually Bluetooth glasses are all compatible and the generics brands all work because of a standard. So that's all active TVs and LCD projectors that use Bluetooth. But it was this standard that might have caused the downfall for 3d tvs. Name brand 3d glasses were expensive and the companies can make more money selling the glasses that go with their 3d tvs. With generics, they lost that money. More likely it was because of cheap LCD tvs though so more expensive 3d tvs could not compete.

On the other hand, there are still people (like me) willing to pay thousands rather than hundreds for a high quality display- but when you do spend that much you expect it to be able to do everything.

I actually purchased an LG 3D TV a few years back when the 3D craze started and suddenly died. But I'm glad I have the TV it can convert any show or movie I am watching into 3D and uses the same glasses they give out in the movie theaters. It's a shame it died so fast but I really hope the future 4K 8K displays come with some sick 3D.

![]() One of those unknown brands has a better video demo of one with a bottle that you can tell is a little past the TV bezel but it did not look that impressive. I still believe this tech needs more improvement and its not ready yet. |

My fear has come true. My 3D OLED 4K screen is showing signs of burn in. It's 5 years old. I was really hoping it could last for at least 8 years. I have so many 3D blurays. It saddens me to never be able to use them anymore. It was fantastic while It lasted. Such a shame I can't buy a new 3D screen.

Very sorry to learn your screen is developing burn in. Have you considered looking for unopened box sets and wish you luck if you do. |

You mean a second hand screen? I have the last LG model with 3D. It's from 2016 and I purchaded one in december 2017. These models are having burn ins so I'm not really put much faith in a good second hand one. |

I've been suffering through it for 3 years now. I have news logos burned in from my 2017 viewing, but those weren't so bad to be honest, usually didn't show up. But burn in from the black bars at the top and bottom are there like 25% time now for full screen content and I have no option but to just live with it.

Let's hope the Nintendo Switch Pro would have the glasses-free 3D from the 3DS back.
And also its dual screens. With both screens being glasses-free 3D OLEDs with traditional glasses 3DTV compatibility in Docked mode. Still, I'm praying LG would bring back 3D support for the 2024 OLED models. Implementing 3D on newer TVs is practically nothing, and they just discontinued it because they think the demand is low. Just like how analogue ports have all but disappeared from modern TVs. (analogue signals look awful directly connected to a modern TV, though, better to connect them to a CRT or with an external scaler like a RetroTINK or an OSSC) |

Sorry, meant "open box". Found this definition: An open-box item refers to one with an opened box that is often resealed or repackaged by the reseller. It's worth noting that an open-box product is also just an opened box, meaning the contents inside (the original product) are brand new and unused. |

It's very unlikely there will be any "open box" items left for models released in 2016.
The LG 3D OLED models from 2016: https://www.flatpanelshd.com/article...&id=1459247590 65” LG OLED65G6P 77” LG OLED77G6P 55” LG OLED55E6P 65” LG OLED65E6P 55” LG OLED55C6P 65” LG OLED65C6P There's listings for used or "pre-owned" ones on eBay, but you're going to likely have to deal with burn-in on those, since they were likely used for several years. This listing is pretty upfront about the burn-in on the set they're selling: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234855048471 |
