General Zavvi Steelbook Discussion Thread

I live in the states and ordered casablanca steelbook from the uk site and it was shipped fedex surepost for the 5 dollar rate. The reason it is surepost as its being shipped to a po box. This is my first zavvi order as i normally get steelbooks on same day release pickup at bestbuy but nowhere has casablanca 4k steelbook except for zavvi. I do have a couple steelbooks preordered from amazon pulp fiction and the running man.

Casablanca steelbook is a trade wide release in UK/Ireland available from multiple UK and Ireland retailers
Amazon UK ship to USA

You also could had ordered a few months ago from
DiabolikDVD and Orbit DVD in USA as they sell UK imports

Walmart in USA also selling the UK steelbook

Is Zavvi not releasing a steelbook for the final season of Walking Dead? I know, or rather I heard, the show sucks in the latter seasons and I haven’t watched it since maybe seasonn5, but I do have steelbooks for season 1-10 (mix and match of the Target and Zavvi steelbooks). I know physical media is as relevant as remembering phone numbers these days but it would be mildly annoying if the last season didn’t have a steelbook.

There is no Blu-ray release yet for Season 11 in UK

Season 11 is Disney in UK/Ireland which is why is available to stream on Disney+ via its Star hub

You will have to wait for to Disney UK/Ireland to do a Blu-ray release for a SteelBook to happen

Thanks for that great explanation. I guess it's likely the release cycle is just quite a bit behind North America.

Am I right that zavvi never did a steelbook of black Adam? I’m positive I order the steelbook and got home to find a standard 4K version, I can’t find a steelbook on here or few forums.
I could swear I ordered a steelbook and they maybe changed my order?
I certainly would not buy a 4K of this at $55 aud yes steelbook but not this.
Problem is zavvi no longer hopefully it’s hope not permanent sell any media to australia any more so can view it. My order looks like what I got.
If a mistake in my part then I need to be more careful. But would love to know if they did a steelbook as it’s not what I got

Zavvi was not selling a SteelBook for Black Adam
They only had the Amaray releases

Black Adam UK SteelBook is a HMV exclusive
HMV is UK delivery address only

Yep I only found this out a few days back not sure why i thought it was a steelbook a wasted $55 on my part could have got the amaray version cheaper here lol.

First time I have placed and order on something thinking it’s a steelbook when it’s not funny think is it’s not even mentioned it’s a steelbook need to check in future.

So I saw a post on fb saying that Zavvi is no longer shipping to the US for the foreseeable future. This is disappointing. I had two steelbooks in my cart.

Luckily I was able to get the Shrek 2 steelbook a few weeks ago and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves 4k last week but stupid me thought I ordered the steelbook version but it was the non steelbook. I was going to order the steelbook but can’t anymore

Are you sure that it was legit? They have a US specific site, so seems odd they would stop all shipments. And the site doesn't say a word about it.

They're not currently taking orders for steelbooks or any other formats from the UK from people outside of the UK. Zavvi.us and Zavvi.ca still have steelbook listings for steelbooks that are available form other US and Canadian retailers but not for UK steelbooks.

For now, Zavvi UK steelbooks are no longer available for North America, Europe or Australia as of Monday afternoon.

So far no reason has been given and nobody knows why.

Hopefully orders already placed will still be shipped. My Iron Man 3 Mondo steelbook was shipped on February 3rd but I still have BTTF II and III being released on Feb. 20th and 3 more MCU Mondo X steelbooks to come.

Don't be so sure. A bit ago i ordered First Blood - just steelbook edition, not the other Mondo one. Then like just before release of the steelbook - week or two, don'tr remember, i found out mine country was one of the few which they stopped shipping to.
Then i got notification about dispatch of steelbook, but right after it said i'll be refunded and steelbook never left storage...
