Mobile Phones (iPhone & Android) 2021 and 2022 ...

My Fold 3 screen has failed and I'm taking it to a BB in the next city to get a new screen. $479 so I definitely need to get the insurance this time. Been wanting to get a work phone for awhile now so my daily texts and calls from work can go to that, will be an emergency phone now too. That way when my fold 3 breaks another screen and I have to send it in, I'll at least have something to use in the mean time.

Really just need talk and text but it has a decent amount of memory so it can be an emergency phone in a pinch. Will be nice to have a phone to help divide my work and private stuff but will probably take awhile to roll out my Mint Mobile number to all the necessary people.

Did you happen to pay for your phone bill with a credit card? Some credit cards offer phone insurance, although for a lot of those you have to enroll in the program.

$8 a month and I've never needed it before so I declined it. Now I wish I hadn't.

I'm with you - I decline all of the extras and add-ons, insurance, or Apple Care.

$479 repair to the Fold 3 in 2 weeks. Grabbed my moto g Power (2022) yesterday for work. Running through the process of getting my new number to all the relevant people ASAP so I can start separating my work life and my personal life, on phones at least.

I know there are Samsung phone fans here (I included), and if you keep up with with the updates and security patches you are also aware of that just above.
It's a wide-spread issue, not just with the most famous smartphone youtuber in the world.
It is what it is, check your older Samsung smartphones from 2020 and before, the ones you don't use anymore. And see if they are blowing up too. And if they do what are you going to do about it? ...Switch to Apple the dictator and the hypocrite, to Google the artificial intelligence and spy? ...Or are you gonna stick with Samsung the custom operator and quality control flooding into the China sea?

In particular if you live in a place where it gets hot in the summer time.
No blowing up for me but all the parts with rubber ... it's a melting zone.
Do you know what a smartphone with rubber looks like when the rubber is all melted? I do, because the summers are getting hotter where I live. It's not just the Atlantic Ocean that is getting its waters warmer ...

Anyway after watching that video above you can check several other prolific smartphones youtubers and reviewers confirming his findings on their own. There is no magic trick here, nothing that is gong to save your resting Samsung smartphone of escaping its destiny.

Never been a fan of those folding phones. I do have a soft spot for Motorola cell phones. If I ever walk away from iPhones, Motorola would probably be a phone to buy.

Enjoying my $180 G Power 2022 so far. Think I'll keep it for a year then upgrade my workphone to something else. Considering:
Pixel
iPhone
Flip
Will of course try to keep it to $300- so that probably rules out the iPhone and the Flip but it would be nice to have trade-in value if I feel the urge to sample something else lol

I just bought a new phone yesterday. Upgraded my ancient Galaxy S8 for a Galaxy S23. The monthly payments were affordable @ 0% interest. I tried trading in my S8, but was told that it was too old.
