S&M is one I think I'd like to have, it seem to recall live recordings really shine on vinyl.

Got S&M today but disc 2 side 3 is skipping and popping so I'll probably ask for a replacement.

I finally went back to vinyl after a 15+ year absence. But I never knew this thread existed and I'd been posting all my purchases in the general music purchases thread. I've been sticking mostly with compilations thus far. These are some essentials that I've bought since picking up a turntable a little over a week ago.

Creedence Clearwater Revial: Chronicle
David Bowie: ChangesOne
David Bowie: Legacy
The Eagles: Greatest Hits Vol 1 & 2
The Eagles: Hotel California
Fleetwood Mac: Greatest Hits
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol 2
Jimi Hendrix: Are You Experienced
Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers: Greatest Hits
Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here (import)
Pink Floyd: Division Bell
Pink Floyd: Songs To Learn And Sing
Rolling Stones: Honk
Rush: Moving Pictures
James Taylor: Greatest Hits
Traffic: Mr. Fantasy

Welcome back! I returned to vinyl less than two years ago after a long absense. It’s a little different but still fun.

That Traffic album is on my wish list –I’ve never owned it in any medium. Just curious, did Pink Floyd release a Songs To Learn & Sing, or did you accidentally put an E&TB title where A Collection of Great Dance Songs should be?

Indeed! The pre-pro and speakers I have now are far different from what I've had in the past, and back when I first had vinyl it was also more of a vintage setup. It's different from how I remember it because of the different gear which sometimes I think is better, and other times I wish I still had the old gear. Regardless, I'm excited to be back.

I'm not a huge fan of Traffic apart from a few songs. I listened to this album years ago but couldn't get completely into it, but I've been finding as of late that I'm enjoying stuff now that I didn't care for previously. Ad since it was on sale for cheap, I grabbed it. And yes, I was actually shopping for Echo & The Bunnymen and had Songs To Learn & Sing in my cart while I was typing up that list lol. So yes, I did mean Pink Floyd: A Collection of Great Dance Songs. But truthfully, I used to confuse those 2 album titles regardless way back when. Good catch!

Likewise, Traffic isn’t a band I ever got really into, but I remember an old friend playing it often and as you said, my interest is wandering and I’m giving some old music a second chance.

Your compilation mix-up is one of those “noble mistakes” . Both comps are great and both bands are on my “essentials” list also.

Default Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here

Forgot I ordered this like a month ago. It just arrived. UK import and probably was on a slow boat lol.
