working on this. But I have no idea what to do for the back. Any ideas? I figured this special deserved a much better cover than what it was officially given lol

Does anybody know what the font is, for the "30th Anniversary Trilogy" text on the spine of the new Back to the Future release? It looks very similar to Serpentine and Copperplate Gothic, but neither's a perfect match.

Anyone have a scan or custom for the Kung Fu Panda trilogy. Would really like to consolidate into a single case.

Default Back to the Future - 30th Anniversary

I did these rebuilds, for anyone who wanted to keep the retail look in a standard-height Blu-Ray case. Both are sized for a 4-disc Vortex; the first has a more retail-accurate spine, while the second was done to match the panels better. Enjoy!

I just started making my own covers and the image brightness is significantly darker when I print them out at kinkos then when I see it on my monitor.
The monitor settings seem right to me on everything else tho.
Should I try a different printer?
Thanks a lot, great work everyone!

I have often found this to be the case as well. Any direction is appreciated.

Was thinking of picking up some cheap double and triple feature sets and then printing off the individual covers and popping them in separate cases. Does anyone have scans for the original covers of Disclosure and Fatal Attraction?

Guys anybody want to help out with some cover art?

I need art for Hung (Season 2) and Hung (Season 3)

[Show spoiler]

I want to get rid of the digipacks and have them in a regular amaray case. I was able to do that with season 1 but have had no luck trying to find scanned cover art for season 2 and 3. Anybody know how I could go about getting the cover art? Or would someone be willing to make it for me? Shoot me a PM with your price, please!

Since the entire Phantasm Series will soon be available on Bluray someone needs to make a Space Saver Cover for all 5 Movies:

Parts I, III, IV and V are coming from Well Go USA Entertainment

and Part II is available from Scream Factory

Part of this set:
Thanks again Nissen! Learned 2 things after printing out your covers. You're an extremely talented graphic artist and my printer sucks. Uploaded the covers to Office Depot and had them printed on their Laser Color Printer. They came out so well, I am now thinking about re-printing the covers I created using my own printer.

For those interested, Office Depot, aka OfficeMax, charged about $5.80 plus tax for the 10 Covers. I picked them up at the store, don't know what shipping would cost you. A lot cheaper than printing them out myself as well. Just make sure you select not to resize.

Default Cornetto Trilogy cover?

Anyone have a cover for the Cornetto Trilogy(Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, World's End)? I made one but I'd like a better version to put in my case. Thanks in advance.

What programs are you using to create the art? Are you working in RGB color space?

The printout will be CMYK, which has more limitations than RGB and will generally be less intense. (CMYK is adding 4 colors of ink to paper, vs RGB which is closer to the colors in the light spectrum.) Converting a copy of your final art to CMYK before printing will give you a better idea of what to expect & help it print more accurately. Does this help at all?

In follow up to this..Is there any benefit to starting your cover in RGB vs CMYK and then switching before you print? I have always wondered this my self, I am decent at Photoshop but do not know what strategy will yield a better cover.

I usually work in CMYK because I am a print designer. Some artists create in RGB, especially if the final may be used online as well as print. Many blending modes in photoshop (multiply, soft light, color burn, etc.) look different in CMYK vs RGB, so there can be changes when converted (unless it's a flattened copy).

If it's any consolation, almost every designer I know has had the same reaction to screen vs printed results, even monitor calibration & color profiles can't totally resolve the difference. And Kinkos (or home) printers are not the same as those used by manufacturers.

I'd love to hear any tips people have for getting good results! I used to make a lot of custom covers but rarely have the time/resources now.

Edit: Pretty good summary from a FedEx/Kinkos page:
[Show spoiler]

Why do the printed colors look different from the colors on my screen?
In short, printers and monitors produce colors in different ways.

Monitors use the RGB (red, green, blue) color model, which usually supports a wider spectrum of colors. Printers use the CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) color model, which can reproduce most—but not all—of the colors in the RGB color model. Depending on the equipment used, CMYK generally matches 85–90% of the colors in the RGB model.

When a color is selected from the RGB model that is out of the range of the CMYK model, the application chooses what it thinks is the closest color that will match. Programs like Adobe Photoshop will allow you to choose which color will be replaced. Others may not.

http://fedexofficeca.van.fedex.com/resources/faqs.html

And another good explanation of CMYK vs RGB.
