Who said that tortoise guy would finish the race? The tortoise and the DrrnHarr?

I apologize...

Seriously, though, that Living Daylights cover is amazing.

Custom boxes are not easy to come by and certainly not easy to make if you don't have the right tools. You would need a scoring knife/blade/utensil and a thin cardboard material (thicker than a typical poster board). Measurements would need to be exact.

After that, you would need to print out the layout of your design in a template that is formed to your box. This is very difficult since the look of the whole thing depends entirely on your quality of paper, and I have been unable to find a paper large enough with the right gloss and texture. Staples and the other office supply stores do not sell textured or semi gloss paper larger than 8.5" x 11". So there's that.

The next hurdle is finding a laser printer large enough (office copiers/printer combos are usually the size you need for a quality job like this) to print a 11" x 17" or larger depending on the size of your box.

Next you would need to use an exacto knife or box cutter to cut out the design and prepare it for gluing to the box. Spray adhesive is a must on this because you must glue all surfaces to the box template.

Then fold your box along the scored edges...

It's really not that easy. You could try and print the design directly on the board you're using, but not a lot of laser printers will print on something that thick without messing up. You could throw raised texturing completely out the window because they use a machine press for that.
Thanks for your reply, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to consider this! This definitely sounds like quite an undertaking the way you've described it, not that I expected this to be easy. I know that you mentioned you had a few ideas, have you ever considered using something like acrylic sheets or plexiglass? I've been researching this and it doesn't look like it would be that difficult to make a box of the size that you want. While I've got the time to do this, it seems like it would be pricey (an acrylic sheet with the appropriate dimensions seems to start at $20 and go up). Considering the films themselves only cost $15 I'm not prepared to put that much money into it. Though I have to admit I think an acrylic box with a red tint and the labels affixed on the inside would look really cool for Blade. I'll keep brainstorming, thanks again for the insight.

My client's preferred version of From Russia With Love. I think this was a brave choice of poster and I support him fully.

This is a custom cover art thread. We don't provide scans here.

Working on case conversions of the Spider-Man slips i did a while back:

The Amazing Spider-Man is an older build of the cover, but the newer version is pretty similar, the review quote is just a placeholder btw. Might do covers for the first two movies from the original trilogy as well, but i'm really not sure what artwork to use atm. The Amazing Spider-Man is getting multiple versions, along with a 3D version.

Wow! Wasn't expecting that - very brave.

The two Timothy Dalton Bonds are my favourites and I'm very curious to see which image your client chooses for Licence To Kill.

Personally I am planning on using the dark brooding Dalton rather than the one I used for my Gold Trim collection.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Things are hopeful though - I received a call from a recuiter for Warner Bros. I don't expect anything to come of that lead but that was only Day 2 of my search.

If I was a cynical person I'd say that was PR talk for 'he doesn't know what he wants but he's the one paying the bill....'

It's a very striking cover nevertheless!

For TASM, use the Marlow Stern (Newsweek) quote, "The Best Spider-Man Yet"
Also seen in this TV spot

Has anyone ever made a cover for Peter Jackson's King Kong that incorporates the Blu-ray disc, 2 production diary discs, the post production disc from the 2 disk DVD..? So it'd be 4 discs in total. I've searched this forum with no luck so far..
