I've got one for The Island.

Frequency and Ides of March are on my eventual To-Do list. For such quality films, they haven't received too much custom cover attention.

Exactly!

I saw your Island one elsewhere the other day. I like the concept and it's really sleek and simple looking, but I'm not sure of the color. I love the region 4 design more than any I've seen, but I hate that it's got those blue labels on the bottom. Same thing with the Italian version with the age labels. So trivial, but so annoying.

Great work btw.

I've been working on these:

A custom Criterion for Grand Illusion for the SudioCanal BD & Criterion DVD. Unfortunately I couldn't find a hi-res image of the front poster so it currently just has a blown up version of a decent quality image. Also need to find the correct font from the title treatment on the front.

A conversion of the DVD cover art. Had some trouble getting everything on the front to fit the BD dimensions. Some stuff is a bit too close to the top and bottom. Having trouble with the spine as well. The BD logo, title, and the orange & white division make it look too top heavy. May move the BD logo to the bottom and move the title up, but it wouldn't match other WHV titles.

I used Futura on the back and spine. Close, but the G, A, and N are different. Whatthefont identifies it as Geometric 415 Black. I'll try to find it when I feel like working on it some more.

I was wondering if anyone has ever encountered a Photoshop issue I am having, and if so how you fixed it.

Whenever I try to use the pen tool is cuts out (makes transparent) whatever I am trying to isolate (i.e. what I want, but in reverse).

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT:
Nissen eventually came to my rescue and his solution appears to have worked.
He suggested resetting the tool from the Options bar.
If you ever encounter the problem - If you click on the tool icon and then the drop down menu you can choose to reset just that one tool or all preferences.
The procedure is described here:

Would I be the only one interested in the Skyfall Steelbook cover art for the combo pack?

And not to get off topic but, what is everyone's 'setup' for printing a new cover... Which printer type and paper would be the best for this?

I think it's been about a year and a half since I started on my first Bloodsport cover. It's my 2nd favorite movie, and when it shared its release in a 2-pack with Time Cop, I decided to make a custom for it.

Back then, it looked like this:

As you can see, it sucked.

I decided to keep the front, and altered the back to this:

Better, but not working for me. Van Damme's hand looked weird, but that's the way it looked.

I decided to alter both the front and back, but keeping the artwork.

The white looked good to me, but after a while I thought it was kinda boring. The back also lacked ideas.

So I came up with this. The front had color now and a new background, and the back got a new look as well.

After I printed it out, I disliked the look of Van Damme on the front. Because of the low PQ, it looked terrible, so I decided to take a new take on it.

This time, I really think it got perfect. I used new pictures for the front, and altered the back a bit.

And now, I think it's been about a year since I didn't touch the last cover. It's not that I don't like it, but I just think I can do better. I sure hope.

That's why I started this new cover here. Can't really decide which front to use, so which do you guys think I should use?

Great work!

I'm surprised you didn't try something like this...:

... which works better in my opinion with the back of the "new one" you did.

As for the newest front cover, I prefer the first one.
Always better in my opinion to not cut anything from the body parts of the actors such as feet and hands.

Keep up the dedication to this great movie that need your covers!!!

This falls into the category of unfinished business. I earlier completed customs for all four individual Indiana Jones movies but here is the much promised Bonus Materials custom I did tonight, including the running time of all the special features:

Made this one using the Canadian cover art. It's actually made to fit as a slipcover, which is what I intend in getting it for rather than an actual cover. But looks good in the case.
