James. Have you considered doing steelbook covers for the other 5 star wars? I'd love to see what would be the art for movies like Ep III, and V.

Especially if you follow the trend of using a key scene from the movies instead of the theatrical posters we keep seeing.

I did this as a one off, but its a good suggestion to take a key scene from each of the six movies. I'm working on a 3D model of a steelbook to apply my designs to, so may be I'lll work on a few more Star Wars designs when I have that model ready.

I was wondering if it was possible to make custom debossing on our Steels the same way we get them dented... Well, my guess is it would be possible to pull off such a stunt, but what would it take to do it?

It would take quite a bit of practice I would say.

James, how do you get your artwork displayed like that, like how it looks like an actual steelbook? Like what program do you use?

Canada English Only Spines for Bilingual/ Foreign SteelBooks™

I have been in contact with the Spine Art Guru Mr James Evans and he has agreed to help me help our forum members out with English only text for Bilingual and Foreign Blu-ray SteelBooks™ This will include ALL current and future Canadian Steelbooks™. What I ask of our members is if you think you may be first to receive an offending title, scan the spine and PM me. I will give you my email address. Send the scan to me and I will pass it on to James. As soon as the artwork is completed I will email the file back to you first, then make it available to anyone who needs it. I hope that this is clear. James and I are not doing this for money, but we do ask that you bear us in mind should we need a rare or hard to obtain Steelbook™ to buy/ trade. Fair??
James is busy so please bear with us, but it will be done, as I am like you and wish to have English only on my spines.

Many people will remember from last year when James and I provided artwork spines for the"Jumbo's" and also Snow White.

How are you meant to scan a spine when a scanner lid won't even close when a steelbook is laid flat out, let alone on it's spine?

It's as Easy as 1-2-3.
1) Open Steelbook™
2) Place n scanner glass
3) Scan.
Job done. Now, what part confuses you?

The fact that the scanner lid will not close properly when anything thicker than a piece of paper is in there. This would create annoying reflections on the scanned image, aswell as lightsources from around the outside of the scanner affecting the final scanned image.

You already know the size of BD spines from your jumbo to thin converts. Why not just design new spines to those specifications?

people stop nit-picking , If you haven't got anything worth saying, then do not. The OP is trying to help people who take pride in their steelbooks, as he said he is doing this in his FREE TIME. He does not have time to re-create the spines. All he asks is for people to scan them in and send them to him. From there, his friend will make the adjustments. Back to the discussion in hand, I currently do not have any bilingual steels, but if I do purchase one, I will sure post it up .

You hit the nail firmly on the head. All I want the scan for is that if there is any artwork on it, the artwork gets recreated along with English text. Keeps the spine matching the front and back plates.
Thank you Tech-UK. I will be happy to help you out.
