Default Official "Super Mario Galaxy 2" Discussion Thread!!

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is an upcoming platforming video game in development for the Nintendo Wii. It was first announced at E3 2009, and is the sequel to Super Mario Galaxy. It will be released in North America on May 23, 2010, Japan on May 27, 2010, and Europe on June 11, 2010. The game's levels are galaxies filled with minor planets and worlds, while its gameplay is based on that of its predecessor, updated with gravity effects and new power-ups. It is the fourth original 3D platformer in the Mario series, after Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy; it is also the second original 3D Mario game to include Yoshi as a playable character, the first being Super Mario Sunshine.

Who's ready for another Super Mario gem? I have been waiting for this since I beat the first one. Just over a month away and the anticipation is building. The inclusion of Yoshi is very intriguing! Thoughts? Got Em!!

I can't wait! The Wii has been badly lacking on first party games for far too long. I literally hae not turned on my Wii in about 3 months. With Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid Other M both coming soon my Wii will finally see some action.

It's going to be AWESOME. But I still want a M rated Mario game, with gore and drugs and sex, like Grandee Theft Mario!

Yea man I was reading in one of the magazines yesterday and saw a cover story about Metroid Other M and it looks like they are goin back to a 3rd person view which I love. I was upset when they changed to games on the gamecube to 1st person. Metroid & Super Metroid are very high on my all time favorites list so if this one is back to 3rd person I am there!

And I do agree to an extent about the Wii lacking in some good party/adventure games lately, although we did get the instant classic New Super Mario Brothers not to long ago. Man I just love Mario games! Cant wait! Got Em!!

Wow serious????? Man u need to get offline right this minute and go pick up Super Mario Galaxy!! Its absolutely great! It goes down as a masterpiece just like all the other Super Mario adventure games! I like it better than Super Mario 64 actually so that should tell u how great it is. In fact it ranks 3rd overall to me in all of the Mario Adventure titles. Here is my rankings below:

1. Super Mario World (SNES)
2. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)
3. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
4. Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES)
5. New Super Mario Bros. (Wii)
6. New Super Mario Bros. (DS)
7. Super Mario 64 (N64)
8. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES)
9. Super Mario Bros. (NES)
10. Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (NES)

Man I am telling u wont be disappointed. Its well worth the purchase especially if u are a Mario fan and u love the old ones including the 64 version. Absolutely incredible. Got Em!!

Yea man I kid u not. That game will have u hooked and playin for hours. Let me know what u think when u get it. Also u better play this one before the new one comes out as they say the new one will be a bit harder and it will continue right after the first one which obvious like any game gets harder the farther u go. Got Em!!

I have:
The New Super Mario Brothers (fun but not a game I cant play for extended periods, loose interest and it can get frustrating)

Mad World (lots of fun but not very diverse)

Mario Kart (play this the most of all the Wii games, love that the wife and I can race other people online)

Mario Party (good but sucks when only playing with 2 people and waiting on the computer to do their moves suck, dunno why this game isnt online)

And then some stupid shooter game I bought used for 4 bucks about robots or something, bought it as it has co-op but the thing doesnt have save points! Cant get past the first level as you die and have to start the whole game again

Yea I am waiting for a new Mario Party and hopes for it to be online. I absolutely love the Mario Party series as well. As for Super Mario Galaxy, I know u will love that as u seem to be very high on Super Mario 64. It plays the same as obvious 3 dimension but man does it take it to anotha level. U will be blown away. Got Em!!

Mario Galaxy is a very good game, almost as good as Mario 64, and one of the best of the series. Excellent visuals and level design, and a ton of fun. My GF and I worked together to get all of the stars in the game. That was very challenging, but fun

I never got all the stars. I always get enough to go see and whoop Bowsers but! Also how the hell did u get the stars on that purple coin collecting level. That seems impossible for the amount of time they give u. Got Em!!

I'm probably alone here but I always considered Mario 64 to be a badly overrated game. A good game? Definately. But I rank it near the bottom of the main console Super Mario games.
