I really have no idea, though. My main concern and what I'm most excited to see is just the fact that it'll have a more modern connectivity scheme with HDMI. It'll be so much easier to integrate into my home theater setups than it is with component cables.
Yeah, just don't expect to ever see it on the Wii, it may be on the Wii follow up though.

That worked well with the Wii controller, probably because Sims games work well with a mouse (which the Wii controller replaces nicely).
The Classic Controller plugs into the WiiMote (same place as the nunchuck) so that you can use it wirelessly. That's why the cord is short. It doesn't plug into the console directly.

They've also got all kinds of adapter dongles out there that will allow a person to use vintage controllers with the Wii. Here is one such example:

...for what it's worth...

Whatever they've got in the works right now, it'll officially have an HDMI connection. Whether they go with "true HD" output is what's up in the air at this point...as I understand it anyway; however, the link in the original post in this thread talks about this new Wii and what it'll have as far its output capabilities. Looks like it will actually support 1080p. I suppose you could say this is still in rumor stage, so I definitely won't be holding my breath for it.

Star Wars on Blu-ray anyone? Oh, wait...

The Wii doesn't need a Blu-ray player. It's a game system and only meant to play game. Ninrtendo will NEVER have any sort of dvd player or blu-ray player on their systems. Nintendo is strictly a game company and that is all.

There is this special controller made by a japanese company called Hori which is designed to play Game Boy games on GameCube with the player for GC.

But it seems it also works as a controller on GC and Virtual Console games in the Wii.
