I'm not sure what happens when you try, but you can't play this with a regular Wiimote. Wii motion plus is required. Which makes sense once you play the game and see how the sword and shield handle in combat.

I'm about 25 hours or so in (I'm guessing over half way through). Based on your comments, I think you'll really enjoy the 3rd dungeon.

The third temple is a toughy. It is very fun, but man I have been getting frustrated as heck in it. I have the boss key, just gotta get there.

My all time favorite dungeon was the water temple in Ocarina of Time. I would love to replay that one again for the first time.

AMEN.

Man...there is NOTHING like playing Ocarina of Time for the first time.

I think that is still my favorite videogame experience of all time.

Can't say as I'm a fan - it was good, but it didn't quite work for me.

Link's Awakening on the Game Boy is still easily my favourite Zelda game.

Of course...I make that choice (ocarina of time) with GREAT respect to Final Fantasy X, XII and VII

Skyrim is getting up there.

{'course...Ocarina of Time could go all day without CRASHING....unlike Skyrim }

I see, thanks. I want to buy it but I guess it will be a slightly bigger investment to play it.

The game won't work without the MotionPlus - it will tell you to add it to your old Wiimote (or get a new one with it built in). Or something along those lines, I forget the exact way that Nintendo remind you to spend more money on them.

I just started playing over the weekend. Not too far, just made it to the "surface" for the first time and looking for 4 Kwikis.

The sword play feels really good and the story is nice so far. I like the art style quite a bit as well as the music.

I'm disappointed with the sword play as the game seems to simultaneously require precise movements and not respond properly to them. I find that most times I have to stab (especially when I do it quickly), it responds with a swipe instead...

I haven't had that problem at all. Of course my lazy arse is sitting while i fight and not standing, maybe that helps

Coming up on Hour #50 and I'm guessing I'm almost done. Loving it!

I found the sword accuracy got worse as the batteries drained. I recharged the Eneloops the last 2 times after the controller hit 2 lights left. Also, the MP config at the beginning sometimes messes things up if it's not flat, etc.

Yeah, I'm almost done as well. I'm at about 45 hours and just started the final dungeon.

The biggest fight I've had with the controls and this is so weird, is using the pointer on the menus. Sometimes, just getting the game started takes a few tries. I'm using the gold wiimote that came with the game. Not sure what that's all about.

There's things I really love about this game and other things I'm not crazy about, but I'll wait until I'm done to post full impressions.

Seems like a slow start so far. We had a MAJOR black out in my town about a week ago and apparently it effected all my Wii settings. I had to re sync all my controllers but everythign is fine. I really think I need to finish Skyrim before I can commit to this.

It is slow for me as well so far. I've made it into the Deep Woods or whatever it is called just past the Faron Woods, so not far but still slow paced IMO. I hope it picks up some. Started to get annoyed with tight rope walking as well.

I'm also not liking the fact that my shield broke and I'm going to have to go to the sky world just to get a new one, tedious waste of time.

Got Skyward Sword for Christmas yesterday, and I'm loving it - The game definitely has a lot of personality and charm, and the art style is definitely unique.

The start is a little slow, but I'm in the 1st official dungeon and I'm amped to keep going. I also like how the overworld itself so far is full of puzzles and secrets, as opposed to Twilight Princess's vast but uninvolving overworld.

The one thing I can't stand so far? Balancing on tight ropes. That **** is frustrating beyond belief.

And it isn't satisfying either, it is just a boring pain in the arse.. It is an area where the Wiimote doesn't feel responsive at all as well.
