I know these kinds of posts are somewhat obnoxious, but I've tried reading through some of the 118 pages of this thread to get an answer to my question, plus no one has replied to this thread in a while so perhaps opinions have changed since then... Anyway, can someone tell me what the "definitive" release for this film on Blu-Ray is? As far as picture quality and being as close to the original in terms of editing as possible.

No one knows for certain but reportedly Scorsese and MOMA are restoring it. It will probably take awhile before it hits a Blu-ray.
