Dealers/marketplace sellers do, but not Amazon themselves. The MSRP is only $30, but the hype already has them going for way over that at the moment, which is why I bought two. One I'll keep for sure, the other I'll leave sealed and hold onto in case the game really does turn out to be 'rare', kind of like how a sealed Metroid Prime trilogy goes for around $100 now. I figure if I can cover the cost of the games, then it's a win, if not, I'll gift one to a buddy or something, no big deal either way.

Edit - and now Tiger Direct has brought the prices down to normal finally. Interesting how fast they skyrocketed, we'll wait and see what happens.

Wow they did for a while there... Recent too...

Anyway you should have no problem finding them at brick and mortar stores if you still want it. 6 months from now will be a different story however today would be no problem!

Yeah, it was in the ads today for Target, Best Buy and Toys R Us. My copy should be on the way from Amazon tomorrow as I pre-ordered early on.

The walmart where I bought mine last night at launch was sold out today when I swung by to pick up some ice-melt. Pretty crazy really.

I picked up a copy at Best Buy today around noon and there were dozens of copies at the store. We have a snow storm here today though so that probably prevented many from driving to the store.

So, I've been playing this and while I'd already played (and beaten) all the other games in this set, I'd never played SMB: The Lost Levels for some reason. I'm only on level 4-4 right now and haven't gotten stuck per se, but am using a lot of lives. So, is this game pretty difficult or do I just suck?

Yeah it is extremely difficult. That is why in the US we got Doki Doki Panic! with a pallet swap to make it Mario or other characters you play as. Nintendo thought it was far too difficult to appeal to the US market.

Yep plus they also thought that it resembled the previous Mario game to much on top of being to difficult. So they release SMB2 instead which is obviously very different then its predecessor but also extremely difficult lol. Got Em!!

Ah, okay. I'm not crazy then. I haven't played through SMB2 again yet, but that was one of the first games I beat back in the day.
But, the Lost Levels has just been kicking my a**. It seems like most of the levels are designed to be done essentially on a speed run. And there's a lot of spots where if you miss one jump, it's over with no checkpoint.
I'm having fun with it, but I've just died a bajillion times it seems like. At least there's seemingly unlimited continues.

Also, I'm glad I picked this collection up. I'm not sure if it's still available in stores, but it's already selling for $71.99 used on Amazon! Is it really that limited?

Yeah, it seems to be driven by being a collector's item since all the games are already on the VC and probably cheaper than the retail price.

I need to play back through SMB2. I remember the first level and the final boss battle with the Frog guy, but I haven't played it since it first came out so the rest is a blur.

I think you had to use the potions to create doors at just the right spot next to vases and then could warp. But, I don't remember where they are at without looking.

Damn! I would have paid $30 for that, but not $71. The extras would have been nice but I have it on the SNES.
