Like during the game Olsen said Sirianni could win coach of the yr. Uh no. Earlier in the wk NFL had announced the 3 finalists - Daboll Pederson Shanahan. How does he not know that ?? That was bad. |

Super Bowl LVII Will Be Broadcast Live In Dolby Vision HDR
https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarc...h=63f4196113ff The way the Super Bowl coverage rights move between different broadcasters has made the AV quality of the live Big Game feed each year something of a lottery. This year, though, Fox, the broadcaster of Super Bowl LVII, is pulling out all the stops to deliver the sort of premium viewing experience the US’s biggest annual sporting event deserves by making it available live for the first time ever in Dolby Vision HDR. According to Dolby, Dolby Vision improves over regular high dynamic range broadcasting by enabling workflows to adapt to all HDR formats and resolutions, reducing the complexity of setup to deliver a higher quality experience at minimal cost, and providing an enhanced eco system from content generation to TV playback that better preserves creative intent. Comcast x Dolby Vision Or, to put this more prosaically as Dolby does in its announcement of the Super Bowl LVII coverage: “When experienced in Dolby Vision, football fans will feel as if they’ve been transported to State Farm Stadium as they watch every heart stopping, nail-biting moment of the Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles game with lifelike colours, sharp contrast, and rich details.” Fox will also be delivering the live Super Bowl LVII in 4K resolution, which provides images with four times as many pixels as you get with the HD technology most Super Bowls have been broadcast in over the past decade or so. Even though we in the UK where I live have long being used to being able to watch premium sports events (and, increasingly, some not so premium sports events, too!) in 4K and HDR, no UK broadcaster has yet managed to deliver a live 4K event in Dolby Vision. So hopefully Fox’s efforts will pave the way to a wholesale improvement in the delivery of ‘tent-pole’ events on both sides of the pond. If you’re as much an AV fan as you are a sports fan and you’re now chomping at the bit to get your eyes on Fox’s Feb 13 Super Bowl LVII broadcast, you need to know that the Dolby Vision/4K news comes with pretty significant strings attached when it comes to the equipment you’ll need to own in order to experience the feed in all its premium AV glory. For starters, you’ll need to be a subscriber to Comcast’s Xfinity cable TV service, and you’ll need to be receiving that service using one of Xfinity’s X1 set top boxes. This box will then have to be connected to a TV that’s capable of playing the Dolby Vision HDR format. Many do these days, but it’s certainly not a universal TV feature. No Samsung TVs, in particular, are equipped with Dolby Vision support. If you don’t have a Dolby Vision-capable TV but are up for buying one before February 13, Dolby has established a ‘store’ on Amazon that carries a curated collection of Dolby Vision-enabled TVs from TCL, Hisense, Sony and LG - many of which are available at discount prices. You can access this Dolby Vision store by following this link. If you’ve managed to get all the necessary kit together in time, though, and you want to enjoy the Big Game in all its 4K Dolby Vision HDR glory, apparently all you’ll need to do is say ‘4K’ into your X1 box’s voice remote when the time comes and the best quality feed will start to play. |

I mean, Brady doesn't have to take the booth this year, or even next year...or, ever, right?
Isn't it basically a contract that allows him to enter into it whenever he is ready? If that's the case, I would advise Brady to take at least a year or two off. Work on your booth presence in your spare time, but step totally out of the spotlight for a while, and let people forget about you for a bit. |

NFL Sunday Ticket Will Have Many New Features When It Moves To YouTube This Fall, Google Exec Philipp Schindler Says
https://deadline.com/2023/02/nfl-sun...tv-1235248264/ NFL Sunday Ticket, a stronghold of football fandom in the U.S. since 1994, will be getting an array of digital enhancements when it shifts to YouTube this fall from its longtime home on DirecTV. “We think there are a lot of great opportunities to differentiate the user and creator experience with our unique capabilities,” Google Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler told Wall Street analysts during parent company Alphabet’s fourth-quarter earnings call Thursday. “Every YouTube viewer who’s interested in the NFL can now have one-click access to the full offering of Sunday Ticket. This will be the first time that Sunday Ticket is available à la carte for fans.” Schindler indicated that picture-in-picture functionality enabling viewers to surf around games of their choice is in the works along with features like chatting. Google is paying a reported $2 billion a year for the package of daytime games. The tech company hasn’t disclosed pricing or other details yet, but plans to offer it both as an add-on for the 5 million-plus subscribers to pay bundle YouTube TV or as a separate option via the company’s channel store. The football talk was timely given the buildup to the February 12 Super Bowl and also served as a welcome distraction for execs after Google and YouTube parent Alphabet reported another soft quarter. YouTube posted an 8% year-to-year drop in ad revenue during the period. Many longtime subscribers to Sunday Ticket, which was once a valuable driver of satellite subscriptions for DirecTV but has languished recently, have rooted for tech upgrades as the NFL hashed out a deal with a streaming partner. DirecTV, which is now privately owned by AT&T and private equity firm TPG, also suffered embarrassing tech outages last season. League commissioner Roger Goodell in the summer of 2022 indicated Sunday Ticket would head to streaming in a deal originally intended as a fall announcement, but negotiations with Apple and other bidders proved complex. YouTube ultimately prevailed last December. Schindler teased a range of updates to the offering, without getting into specifics. “On YouTube TV, we’re building the ability for subscribers to, for example, watch multiple screens at once and on YouTube [connected TV] we’ll be adding new features specific to the Sunday Ticket experience, like comments, chats, polls, and so on,” he said. “On the creator side, imagine all the creative ways they can create with exclusive NFL content, behind-the-scenes event access and so on. We’re really excited to see what they will do across long-form, short form, livestreams and more.” The YouTube deal further extends the reach of the NFL into streaming. Last fall, the league kicked off an 11-year exclusive relationship with Amazon for Thursday Night Football on Prime Video. Media partners NBCUniversal, Disney and Paramount have all started to phase in exclusive streaming broadcasts on their respective digital platforms. |

He can go to Prime Video, or CBS or NBC, etc. etc. He's not restricted to a FOX booth.
Well, for every Romo, you have ten who crashed and burned. On that same note, because of the internet and fickle dogpiling at a moment's notice, people will turn on announcers off of a single miscue. With Romo, after his pee pants Super Bowl, his OTT commentary this season, and his N-word mystery shenanigans from last weekend.....he's gotten people already tired of him. It's almost a lose-lose job. Even legitimately great announcers like Joe Buck still have half of the people hating him because....just because, really. Honestly, my overall advice to Brady would have been to just retire and not take some booth job that's going to still have you on the road away from your family as though you were still playing football. Just focus on your own TB12 brand and leave the NFL grind behind. |

CBS romo, NBC collinsworth so Olsen would be #2 which he is at fox anyways once Brady's there. Brady also lost alot of $$ even for him on the FTX scandal so that $37.5m/yr from fox looks kinda nice. |

Everybody already has somebody: That doesn't mean they aren't replaceable.
You know, when Romo was announced to the broadcast booth, you had a lot of veteran announcers decrying the contract, especially since Romo wouldn't be working his way up through the system as they had. If someone deems Olsen valuable enough, then they will replace who they have to. It wouldn't be the first time. On that note, while Herbstreit is fine, I don't think he's at all entrenched. I'll go even further, and this time delve into some sacrilege: Al Michaels has seen better days, too. That's the kind of nonsense I'm talking about. If I'm Brady, I'm just avoiding the mess altogether. |
