Well this is interesting for UK members that want 4K.

We have agreed an exciting new deal with Disney that Zavvi will have full UK exclusivity on 25 Disney & Pixar new to 4K UHD titles. We will be the only place you can buy these on 4K UHD in the UK!

These titles will not be released as steelbooks, so this is the only way to buy these films on 4K in the UK. New titles will launch weekly, all exclusive to Zavvi.

The first two titles in the new to 4K UHD exclusive collection, A Bug's Life and Monster's Inc., are now available to order for Red Carpet Members and will be available at 6pm to everyone:

https://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/a-bug-.../13107891.html

Was this something that was confirmed by Zavvi?

All I could see on twitter was this response from customer service which is a bit more optimistic…

Default Zavvi pre-order / general sale timing

I am new to steelbooks and have a question.

If you pre-order with Zavvi and then it looks like they won't go out of stock before release day, can you cancel the pre-order and order in general sale (to get discount code working) at the same time? Or will the pre order have been dispatched by then? If not, how long do you have to cancel before, 24 hours or something?

I am interested in the X-men films, they look like they will not sell out before release day and I have pre-ordered.

Is this something that people do?

Thanks

Zavvi has been known to start the shipping process up to a week before release date, so just be aware of early processing if that's something you might want to do.

If you are able to cancel the item, it usually takes effect pretty instantly. Also if it's a In-Stock item, you will have barely no time to cancel if you make a mistake or want to add something. The order usually moves to processing pretty quickly.

I preordered something and paid with Paypal, and the order already says processing (not due for release for 2 months). Can things be cancelled when they're processing?

Just a few random thoughts on recent posts:

I do hear a rumour these Zavvi Disney 4K exclusives might move on to getting steelbooks after they've got money out of everyone buying the regular release... hmmm, I don't mind waiting but I wish they'd be upfront and say if they'll get steels later or maybe steels for the popular ones?
Are the present Zavvi Disney 4K exclusives limited? ie. will they sell out and rocket on eBay or can I wait and be sure they'll still be available (maybe even in a sale?)
Will these exclusives go non-exclusive after a year or so... to be fair I can see why they'd want to beep that quiet, if so...
FYI: When the Super 8 steel was running late I know someone who cancelled it and thus didn't get charged but he still received the item... obviously Zavvi departments don't actually communicate.
Talking of running late, is it going to be a new thing that items with a RELEASE date of the Monday (and the same day expected arrival date of course) are STILL not even sent by the Wednesday? I don't even mind waiting for an exclusive steel (I waited for the 4K Mulan steel) if I'm TOLD the date thay will be available but DON'T like being told "Oh we'll get it to you the same day as everyone else's release" but then they don't even send it out - my The Birds and Backdraft 4K steel exclusives are not only still processing but they still showing a predicted arrival date of 31st May... apparently Zavvi is now delivering in a DeLorean!

Yes you can cancel Processing items (PayPal takes a while to refund as they take on order with that).
My only problems with cancelling is from a large order and I cancel 1 item... the order seems to sit there forever processing even after all non-cancelled items have been delivered.

But if paid for by PayPal it will take a while to refund as they've taken the money and have to talk between departments; not something they're famously good at.
Make sure you keep checking you get the refund and chase if not!

It varies person to person or maybe country to country, I don't know because I pre-order all the time and I always pay through PayPal.
I am never charged until about a week before the release date so when I cancel a pre-order there isn't a refund to be given.

What you said came true lol. Apparently it's already "dispatched", even though it does not release for a few more days. There is no estimated delivery time like others though.

Interestingly, I ordered all 3 skywalker trilogy SW and only 2 arrived so far. It says all 3 were dispatched with same estimated delivery day (27-28 may). Is this common?

Since they all ship out separately it could be that they just got split up and the one "missed the boat" so to speak. Are you in the US, or at least overseas from the UK?

Tues/Wed before that next Monday's release is usually a good estimate on when things start processing. Probably making a decision by that Sat/Sun is as far in advance as you can get

Hmmm... I don't know how common that is really for 'local' delivery. I would probably be messaging them by Friday if it hasn't arrived yet

Wow been buying from zavvi more than 11 yrs now, even back in the day they started doing steelbooks.
I took time out from steels around 2013 for couple of years and man that was a mistake missed so much cool steels.

Im at it again and have been for good few years and i buy a ton of them, i used to buy a number of limited editions from them but got sick of poor packing.
But they seem to have got better there.

Steelbooks while mailers are not the best but seem to work most of the time.

Someone from usa said to me if something does not show up make sure to contact them prior to 40 days, i was not sure if any truth in this but did so incase.

When covid started last year i used to get stuff over 50 days even 60 days and some way quicker.
But i did have two steels never show up, luckily one was replaced and refund on other and i was well over 40 days then.
As we know stuff was taking longer to arrive due ti covid but when it was taking too long then i would contact.

Anyway moving forward earlier this year two steels was sent but both never showed up contacted them within 40 days and was replaced all good, yep its over 75 days and the orginal orders still not arrived but replacements did.

Anyone im missing another steelbook i check dates and timezone times etc and they are telling me im over the 40 days cant replace or refund me.
They did not reply to me until days after i send them message and continue say too late.

Having been buying from them for years and i spend a small fortune i am very annoyed how they are going about this.

Is there anything on there site about 40 days just curious as i only heard it word of mouth.
But it seems it's true.
They could not give a monkeys about there customers acting like this. I am taking this futher up the ladder and have had results from past issues etc.
But after all these years they been around im very surprised how they not gone bust.
If we all stopped buying from im sure it would hurt.
But it seems they are getting stronger and bigger and yet still have crap customer services.

Anyone else had this too late its over 40 days crap and how did it work out for you?
Im in australia so stuff takes bit longer than most places and lack of flight but zavvi does not care less.

I personally haven't had anything go permanently missing from Zavvi. But my last order, which arrived a couple of months ago, took 52 days to get to me in Canada. According to Royal Mail's delivery standards, it should have taken 5-8 business days.

I guess in future if I am hitting that 40 day limit, I'll complain just in case.

You can get a refund or replacement from Zavvi if you contact them 30 days after your item has shipped and it hasn't arrived. You can also get a refund (or replacement if copies are still available) from them after 30 days if you tell them you haven't received your SteelBook even if you did receive it since there isn't any tracking. Comes in handy when you receive a damaged SteelBook. No need to accept their 10% damage discount which still allows them to make a profit on your misfortune and it saves you from having to pay for return postage (with tracking of course) and wait for them to receive it back before they ship you a replacement (again without tracking).

If you wait longer than 40 days to contact Zavvi they will tell you that it's too late for them to track it with Royal Mail (even though there isn't any tracking on the package) and you won't receive a refund or replacement.

That's just their policy. That's what their Customer Service people have to follow. Nothing they can do for you.

Where does it say this on there site? I must have been like hours too late of 40 days, I actually thought I worked out dates ok but with time zones and weird dispatch email at midnight to me knocked me off a bit.
But was never the case when covid started I waited 60 days sometimes before saying no show as nothing was getting anywhere in a hurry.
40 days is not long really, more so during this time coming to Australia but I thought I let them know it has not come.
And right away they said tough luck.

I think that is pretty crap from them to be honest and if they want to play games with me then bring it on.
But I am taking it up the ladder it’s weird these days they take days to reply and I have asked them how I want to move forward with this and seems there in no rush to reply. Customer services are hopeless to be honest and I will get this sorted out.

It’s just the efforts they put you through is crazy in my book.

It doesn't say it on their website but so what? You're in Australia, they're in the UK. If they tell you no then there isn't anything you can do about it.

You're telling everybody to stop buying from Zavvi and then they will do better. Be serious. You won't even stop buying from them even after they continue to kick you in the groin. You're just saying thank you and asking them to kick you again.

Zavvi website in terms and conditions
If you do not receive delivery by the estimated delivery listed in your dispatch email
You must contact Zavvi that you not got delivery.

When Zavvi reply they usually tell you wait a bit longer and list what date before you contact them again.

It's very simple process you contact Zavvi as soon as the estimated delivery date has passed If you not got delivery.

That way it's officially received you contacted them in a reasonable timeframe
Even though zavvi may tell you to wait a bit longer you have started the process of non delivery

If you wait until to long of a timeframe after the estimated delivery date you risk been to late to inform Zavvi
