The point being is that if you order SteelBooks years after release, your chances of getting minor defects are going to be high. |

Furthermore, I am collecting SteelBooks for some time now, and I DO KNOW that the probability to get a damaged (in any way) one is higher in direct report with the the time spent from release to the time of purchase, but usually/normally those old releases sold by big shops, are also valued accordingly, less thank 10$/€, and I know because I did purchase such items along the time. Nevertheless, this and nothing actually justify receiving a DAMAGED good when purchasing a BRAND NEW ITEM! If you are OK for paying whatever the price is asked for an item advertised as NEW only to receive it with damages, then I sincerely don’t have anything else to say, and I wish you receive all items as that, including the ones that I would receive damaged, so that Iget a better chance to receive them REALLY BRAND NEW and OF COURSE UNDAMAGED! |

Certainly not everybody gets damaged SteelBooks, even I don't usually got damages from Zavvi, especially back then when they were using those white cardboard packaging for single SteelBook. I thought we are here to share our experiences and ideas related to our common interest and hobby, not to "put down" one other, and definitely I didn't wanted to scare anyone, nor that I think had done that. Is that wrong of me to think all above, or what? Last edited by Felix_ro; 05-13-2022 at 04:09 PM. |

Yet, when I received multiple (four/4) SteelBooks from Zavvi, I received two undamaged (mint as you say it), and two got damages, and those where most likely from the transport (longer time to arrive here, unfortunately, because Zavvi don't want to use tracked delivery, despite me being OK paying extra for this kind of shipping). And when the replacement come, the package was quite OK, no damages whatsoever, but the Last Stand was even more damaged than the first one (can be seen in my picture in the post above, the one that is unsealed is the second one). So naturally I only could presume that Zavvi had chosen to send me an already damaged item. Would you or anyone got the same conclusion? |

I never said I was going to stop ordering. I was implying you should. I have ordered and received over 20 steelbooks from zavvi now, including the Monsterverse 4 steelbook set I haven't had any come with dents or dings. In fact I've had worse luck with Best Buy and Gruv. And only had one come bad from Gruv. |

As far as I know even Zavvi treats you (US buyers) little different, and pack better or choose a better couriers. So not so much about luck. I also ordered tens (maybe hundreds) from Zavvi, but just now had those shipped already damaged. And for this, your "implying" is not so adequate. Also we should only talk here about thing that happens to everyone. OMG! Seriously (all you guys), I never thought that I had to defend myself and my misshapen with you guys! That's crap. Is like you think you're some sort of an elite just because had the fortune to be born and live in a more civilized part of the world, and receive all your items "mint". Sorry if I bothered anyone sharing what happened with my latest orders from Zavvi. And I HONESTLY HOPE the remaining of the orders that are still to come from Zavvi (although some have about 2-3 weeks already since dispatch), will come undamaged, so that I don't be tempted to say it here. |

No, none of us think that we are elite.
You need tough skin to be a SteelBook collector. We shared with you our tips and tricks. This is how you deal with Zavvi. If you are not happy, you should probably move up to premium SteelBook collecting where you will be paying a lot more, but will have collector-level packaging. Either that, or drop out of the SteelBook game altogether. |

I placed two separate(long story) steel book orders from Zavvi on the same day. They both dispatched on the same day. One order arrived last Wednesday. The other is? I have never placed separate orders from them is this common?
If you really want a high percentage of damaged steel books order from Amazon. They have a bubble mailer with your name on it. Talk about not giving a shit. |

To piggyback on the comments just above me, I'm looking for some input/insight...
I pre-ordered the Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises Ultimate Collector's Edition 4K Ultra HD SteelBooks from Zavvi US on 04/15. The same were dispatched/shipped to me via "International Standard Delivery" on 06/23, with an estimated delivery of between 06/30 and 07/07. It is now 07/26 and I haven't received this package yet. Conversely, I ordered the Batman (1989) and Batman Returns Ultimate Collector's Edition 4K Ultra HD SteelBooks from Zavvi US on 06/22. The same were shipped to me via "International Standard Delivery" on or around 06/30 (I'm doing the actual ship date for this package from memory) and were actually received by me on 07/07. I am worried that the Nolan bundle (which I wanted more than the Burton bundle anyway) is lost and isn't going to make its way to me. Is it "normal" for something I pre-ordered months ago (the Nolan bundle), which was shipped to me over a month ago, to not be here yet, whereas something (the Burton bundle) I ordered months after the pre-order of the Nolan bundle, which was shipped to me a week after the supposed shipment of the Nolan bundle, arrived approximately one week after it shipped? If this is "normal", then how much longer should I wait before I contact Zavvi's customer service? If this isn't "normal" and I should contact them now, then can someone give any insight as to how Zavvi deals with cancelations after the package was allegedly shipped to me? In short, my main concern is just getting the Nolan bundle. I don't want to keep waiting around on this Zavvi shipment if it's never going to come and risk not being able to get the Nolan bundle (either via another order from Zavvi or from another retailer). Thoughts? |
