I am thinking about purchasing a Peachtree Decco 65 or a Peachtree Audio Nova 125 and was wondering if the decco 65 would be enough power for the speakers I am about to get after finishing the auditioning. I have already auditioned the PSB imagine B bookshelf and was thinking of getting them. I am now leaning to the Totem Rainmaker. The place where I get my gear doesn't let me take the demos all at once so it is difficult to A/B them. But it looks like I am liking the Totems.
If i could save some money with the Decco65 it would be great. I am a little skeptical because on other forums they say the older generation was lacking in the amp but have improved with this new line. The other question is, I was wondering, if I should connect using USB or optical to my Mac Pro. I don't have any optical cables left. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. |

Being a 4ohm speaker with a relatively low sensitivity at 87.5dB, I would buy the Nova 125 to match with the Rainmakers. The Decco 65 will drive them as well, but if you're going to pump it up with some juice you may find that amp struggling.

Thanks Johnny Vinyl and Prerich. I am not sure if I am correct but I think the Nova 124 can do 200 watts 4ohm?
Sorry not familiar with computer audio, another question is do you need a special USB cable or will a standard one work. Here is a link of the usb cable. http://baybloorradio.com/index.php?r...roduct_id=1096 |

![]() Is there a break in time for the hybrid tube because I forgot to ask my rep and it is nowhere in the manual. Love listening to music in 2 channel and can't wait till I set it up. |

I will definitely join in the vinyl forums once I need advice for a turntable and thank you for your offer. I don't know which TT they had setup at my store (Bay Bloor Radio) but it sounded really nice. Definitely, something I could get addicted to. |

![]() Bay Bloor Radio is a pretty big Pro-ject dealer, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was one of their models. I haven't been there in ages... ![]() |

Which player are you using in your Mac? If you are considering adding a TT, I would suggest that you invest in Pure Music with Pure Vinyl by Channel D. Jeff Joseph made rips at 32bit/384khz of vinyl neddle drops that sound "flawless"! These were played back through a Lynx Hilo DAC, MacBook Pro, and a nice power amp (using his Pulsar loudspeakers). If you have a Mac and a turntable...you need Pure Music/Vinyl

Quick question, did you notice with your speakers after break in time, more cohesiveness? That's what they state on their website. |

The TT is coming soon but I spent all I had and dont like to carry balances on my credit card so I will have to wait. I was gonna buy a new center channel and surrounds but bought this instead since I listen to music in 2 channel a lot. Also, when I am editing with PS CS6, I listen to music as well. I am going back and listening to all my music from the 80's. I am in 1980 heaven and my wife was asking me in the morning what time I came to bed so I am gonna have to cut short my listening since 10 hours in the last 2 days seems excessive for her. Can't wait to join the TT world and thank you for all your help. |
