What video guru Joe Kane wants from UHD or 2160p otherwise falsely known as 4K TV.

To get true 4K you need a projector.

I saw the interview on HTG earlier today and man I wish Joe was in charge of dictating the specs for the next "Ultimate Ultra High Definition" System

He definitely knows his stuff and the system would be much better for it if they (the consortium of Corporations trying to monetize everything) would listen to him.

Very good highly informative points of view. The last episode I think it was 179 (something like don't call it HDMI 2.0) was also a great episode pointing out what I think is also very important is that we shift the conversation away from the number of pixels on the screen and towards much more important things like color reproduction and sampling rates.

I don't always watch the episodes on Monday but I watch them sometime throughout the week. I think I know quite a bit of stuff but watching that show makes me feel like an idiot sometimes, they don't do it on purpose though. I always walk out of that hour knowing more than I did two hours ago.

Sadly I only discovered that channel a short while ago when I saw the Robert Heron point of view from the calibrating Leo's tv over on HDnation on rev3 networks. I've been hooked since. The only downside is that for whatever reason I can never get the streaming part to work so I always have to download the episodes 1 at a time and am slowly making my way through them

As a lot of you know I am obsessed with Blue is the Warmest Color. With Ultra High Definition or 2160p done right, not only can it be Blue is the Warmest Color, blue can also be the most accurate colour.

I enjoy some of Joe's technical write-ups featured in Widescreen Review. Definitely, worth a look if your in to digging a little deeper than most consumers.

Yeah, I watched this as well.

I was very interested in 4:4:4 bit rates filtering down to current technology.

It wouldn't be too difficult. New format blu-ray. Most blu-ray players can decode and send. Most displays will accept the signal. More accurate colour and higher bitrates will be better than extra pixels.

I didn't realize that Blu ray was 4:2:0 actually before a few weeks ago I didn't know colour space even existed.
