Default TCL brand TV

I have been seeing ads on this brand tv. Has anyone picked it up? I have heard good reviews so far on Amazon but not so good on CNET. I just want people's input on this brand tv. Thank you.

The only place I have seen TLC TV's has been at my local gas station's or at McDonald's. I don't know anyone that had them in their home's so I cant comment on performance ect.

CNET has the 55 P series listed as one of the best 4K TV's of 2017 so they can't be all that bad.

Their review is glowing as far as PQ goes. I'm thinking about saving up to see if I can nab one on black friday.

I have a 50" TCL Roku tv in my grandsons room. On nearly all the time and has one of the best pictures I've ever seen. About a year old now. Highly recommend.

4 years later and the answer is- yes, they’re good. In 2017 they seemed to step up to the plate by offering high-end features (4K,HDR,Dolby Vision) with budget pricing ($300-700) with their S and P Series. Those are the ones I frequently see available in stores.

My son just bought the 55p605. Great tv for features and price. Great gamming tv with the low input lag

I own two of the 4K TV's, the 55" P605 & the 49" S405. I am patiently waiting for the May 1 release of the new "6" series to see the reviews of the 65" model. if it is as good as I'm anticipating, i'll be getting one of them for my main HT.

so far, I am 100% all kinds of satisfied with the TCL brand! please don't think because it's inexpensive that it can't be a good/great tv; the price/performance ratio hasn't been beat as of yet.

Bought 4 for cheap ones for office installs.

One died with basically no use about 13 months in.

Not a brand I'd go to for my personal use.

Anybody picked up the R615/R617 yet?

If so, how is it? How does the brightness and input lag compare to the P605/P607?

One dying isnt really a reason to write off this brand. My samsung ks8000 died 12 months after I bought it. It's very rare for a tv to fail, but it does happen. When it does happen it usually isnt a brand issue, but rather just misfortune. These manufactures produce so many TVs and every once in a while a piece of hardware is going to be made with flaws. It seems statistically inevitable. And someone is going to get that tv with the flawed hardware.

What I am happy about in that linked preview is the confirmation of pricing for the 65" model. TCL is gonna clean up on that model.

I picked up the p55605 a few weeks ago,, replaced my LG47LW5600, which is going in the bedroom.
Pretty happy with it so far,, great picture, and not a bad price at all just over $600

Planning to go look at the 6 series tomorrow at Best Buy, hopefully they have some on display. But they don't carry the 65 in store, and I am not sure I would want a 55, although being $400 cheaper is nice.

Proud owner of the 55R615. Can't wait to get home and set this baby up. Of course Best Buy had the TV on display buried among the low end TV's and the 4K source they were showing on it wasnt very good. But I am going to trust reviews and give it a shot. 65" would have been nice but this is a supplement to my projector system so 55" is fine.

I just ordered my 65R615 to replace my 55P605. Moving the P series to my bedroom. I had a 10% off coupon so I got it for 967 after taxes. Can’t wait for it to come in.
