Default Google Play - Disney Movies Anywhere

Alright, I was gifted a small fortune of google play cards. I don't normally use google play for video watching. I prefer Vudu. I've got Disney Movies Anywhere linked to both google and vudu and would like to spend some of these cards on DMA google play movies possibly the star wars collection.

My problem is, how do you tell if a google play disney based movie is actually DMA?

I understand that "A New Hope" probably wont transfer and that's ok but for the rest I'm curious.

I also understand that Vudu currently has the set for $85, but I figure that google play might match the price in the next few days so I'll probably wait for that too.

Anyone have any info on this?

I haven't bought a DMA movie direct from Google Play yet, but all of my Disney movies that I've bought have shown up on both Google Play and Vudu before too long. As far as the Star Wars collection goes, Episodes I-III and V-VI show up on DMA. As far as A New Hope goes, until the distribution rights go to Disney, that will have to be purchased again on Vudu should you buy the collection on Google Play, or if you buy on Vudu, it'll have to be repurchased on Google Play. Episode VII should show up in any account you have linked with your DMA. Hope that helps.

You can always find the movie on the DMA site and click buy. It will redirect you directly to Google Play when that's the store selected.

Correct, ANH will not transfer. If bought on Vudu it will transfer to other UV providers, but that's it. The other SW titles are DMA and will transfer to various providers just like any other DMA eligible movie.

Or you might get really lucky and they'll price match iTunes who has it for $75 right now.

Props! That seems like a fairly fail-safe way to do it. I'll be watching the price.

Dang, I didn't realize they had it for that price. I hope it goes down to $75.

Chances are better now that Amazon has price matched the iTunes price. GP and AMZ often match each other.

I also had a $50 amazon card as well. But I'll wait a few more days to get rid of these Gplay cards.
