It appears from his post on the other insider thread that A certain insider no longer works for a certain software company and appears to be saying good bye to that forum. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...9#post12821799

Is the timing a coincidence? or did a certain recent anouncemnt prompt his "decision"?

Thanks Penton, BestBuy would be the first of the dominos. Can't wait to see it.

I paid 105 Euro for my jacket, which is about $150 US. I've not yet seen it with my own eyes as its on its way to Kelowna from the Netherlands, but I'll post an update on the forums when I get it. I'll include pics too, though I'm not as photogenic as Mystik. :-)

Penton,

Don't know if you can do this but right now Disney is offering if you buy con-air or the rock on blu-ray and you own the DVD they will give you $10 (mail in offer)

this is Great........but they make you cut out the upc or Proof of purchase, for many people this suck beacsue we don't want to cut up our cover art.

Is there anything that can be done about this.

I am very aware how rare they are, and have spent twice that much already on my clothing for the shoot. It's funny how much those jeans where ($$$) but hey if you want designer holes you have to pay for them. lol

Say... if one were so inclined to purchase said item at regular retail value... how would one go about said task?

Penton any news on Weinstein? I know they are supposed to be hd dvd exclusive but as of late they gone silent.

They aren't making hd dvd's and not talking about Blu-Ray. They have some great titles for such a small company.

Hi Greg
Amy Pascal (Sony) is one of the most powerful (and delightful) people in Hollywood and she loves non-action films.

Hey Wicky,
Somebody PM’ed me a link to decipher the *numbers* in the inscription on my gift.
I haven’t got around to the translation but, regardless, the memento will stay on my desk.

Who is Amir?
I do know of a person called the A-man where if you check the rant thread several months ago….. his upcoming “retirement” was predicted by many people in Hollywood, as I posted there awhile back.

Actually, if memory serves, Darinp also mentioned at that time that he had spoken to people (at a software company?) who told him that the A-man was being encouraged to “retire”.

As far as this Amir guy goes, whoever he is, I wish him the best and encourage him to watch movies in Blu-ray rather than DVDs on some up-converting Toshiba player.
The difference is quite obvious.

He probably had to box the item and the shipping from the Netherlands to you may take awhile.

You can’t buy them from any retail store, as they are quite unique.
Have richteer post the e-bay ad for clarification.
All you can do is get one somehow from a previous owner.

Got to go people, as it's time to do a Blu lunch.

Later.

P.S.
Hey Wicky, or any other insiders/mods - feel free to answer any questions for me on my personal thread, as I'm not picky about that sort of thing.

Hey Penton-Man,

Can you recommend a good sushi restaurant on Washington Blvd. I'm right next to Sony Studios.

Thanks.
