I also would be interested in this as the reviews for the X95J from people in china seem to say there is not much difference between the X90J and the X95J.

Sony gave our company the first allocation of 75" and 85" X95J and Z9J TVs and we'll be evaluating them and testing all of these new high-end TV specifications.

The X95J is much brighter than the X90J and the X95J has a better back lighting system and control. Plus the anti-glare coating and X-Wide viewing feature.

Ignore the China reviews on the X95J honestly they are BS. Wait for the review from Value Electronics Robert and Co are not going to lie to us and both TVs will be tested under proper professional calibration not default OOB settings.

Nothing against Robert in any way; he seems like a really nice guy with integrity, but any review of a product done by a person selling that same product should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Not many dealers will seriously criticize a product that they are trying to sell even if they found it to have substantial flaws. Doing so would not endear them very much with their supplier, either. Dealers tend to accentuate the positives and ignore the negatives and that is not what you want in a product review. You should want an unbiased review and it is hard to be unbiased when the reviewer also wants to sell you the thing.

While I would agree with you the review or a review from some unknown china source is not exactly a trustworthy review either. I've seen Robert advise on products he sells and at times I've seen him say its not that good or it falls in here but X/Y/Z is better. Any day of the week ill trust the devil I know over the devil I don't. Besides I can always say not to a sales man.

Secondly the Reviews I've seen Robert do on TV's for this site he has put all information up including his calibration to show exactly what was changed and what the final results were. And unless things are changing hes not comparing Sony to LG, he's comparing 2 Sony models both of which he sells. This is not a case of I'm comparing X/Y/Z brand buy it, this is a case of I've reviewed these models this is what I find best. So now take his review and compare it to Vincents when his goes live there's your truth.

As I said: he seems to have integrity.

In general, I just don't expect unbiased reviews from the person trying to sell me something.

I'm not your typical business owner. My lifetime passion and career have been in support of premium performance audio and video. Before starting Value Electronics 24 years ago I was a successful TV Broadcast system engineer.

Regarding my evaluations and testing of TVs I only say exactly what I see. I present on several a/v speciality Youtube channels and I am a frequent technical presenter at CES, CEDIA, NAB, and IBC.

The best example of my unbiassed position on TVs is the annual TV Shootout Evaluation event that I created and host for the past 18 years. We put every premium manufacturers flagship TVs next to each other for a top professional comparison and evaluation by very well respected video experts. Our panel of expert judges are made up of Hollywood colorists, film finishers, video scientists and professional TV reviewers.

We bring in the top calibrators to calibrate the TVs. Every year I bring in some of the best and highly respected video experts to run the TV Shootout. I've had Joe Kane, Joel Silver, as our keynote presenters and to manage the event, this year I am bringing in Stacey Spears to run the TV Shootout.

I am on the Video Standards committee for the CTA/CEDIA and was recently officially appointed as a "Council" advisor to Sony. We are also Beta testers for several a/v brands and I work very closely with LG on picture quality enhancements.

Even the biggest review sites are built off incoming revenue:

Rtings has referral links and a fraction of its money comes from subscription fees
Consumer Reports is mostly subscription fees but has fallen from grace (especially its car reviews)
zdnet, digital trends
Vincent Teoh or countless youtube reviewers
Amazon's reviews have been pretty much "gamed" at this point
Best Buy will eventually get to the point of Amazon

I got tired of waiting on Sony to release the 65inch X95J. So I went with the X90J which doesn't get the best reviews online. I am not expert but this TV blows my 950G out of the water when it comes to HDR and Dolby Vision content. Black is black and I don't see any blooming at all. I have only had it for a day so far but watching Passengers and Prometheus in 4K was just beautiful with this TV. Don't understand why it gets so much hate. PS5 gaming also looks great on X90J. So if anyone is done holding out don't pass up on the bad reviews of the X90J. The colors are vibrant and not washed out like many reviewers have said.

If you're a gambling man, Best Buy has the X90J 50" size in a variety of open-box conditions for $660 to $790. There aren't any by my location (its ok I probably wouldn't have bought an open-box) but there might be some near you. No delivery options.

The 55" and 65" versions didn't have such big price drops for their open-box TVs.

Vincent Teoh really should re-upload the X90J Review + Comparison video. I just can't. Even at .75 speed it sounds like he's talking through a filter.

Yeah, it was a really poor decision on his part to speed it up, apparently in response to a few viewers complaining that he speaks too slowly. Hope he reconsiders.

I thought something was wrong on my end at first. Really annoying and setting it to 0.75 speed doesn't help either.

Had to warranty out my Sony 930E with Allstate(Squaretrade). They offered my a $700.00 Samsung first, then I sent them the specs I would need as a replacement, after a few emails. I agreed on a 65 X90J. Had it for a week, tweaked the settings and now starting to enjoy the set. So far it's a super nice upgrade.

Good to know that you, as a former X930E owner, are happy with the X90J as a replacement, and even consider it a "super nice upgrade". The X930E was a very beloved, highly regarded TV!
