I don't know if this has been brought up before, but I searched for key words on my issue with no results.
My tv doesn't have a native MA app so I tried using the app on my Fire Tv Stick. However, all of my movies play only in stereo, not 5.1 audio. I checked all the settings in the app and stick, but nothing. Apple Tv, FandangoNow, and Prime play fine. Anyone else encounter this problem? Is there a way to fix this? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks. |

Don't think ever tried it from the app. Have 2 Fire Stick 4K that gives me Atmos usually and a non-4K stick that give me 5.1, but I play all movie that are MA available directly from Amazon and not the MA app. Seems like an extra layer of software the movie would have to pass through. Is there something MA offers that is not on Prime?

Vizio 4K TV
Loaded the app onto a Fire Stick 4K (never had it) and checked Independence Day, movie, Legacy feature and Theatrical with commentary and the all showed up as Dolby Vision and Dolby Audio. Then checked Spider-Man 3; movie, Grains Of Sand featurette, and Stan Lee Interview. They also showed as Dolby Vision and Dolby Audio. Everything has surround characteristics except the Stan Lee Interview. Samsung 4K TVThen Loaded app on ROKU Ultra and played Independence Day and the Legacy featurette and they both sounded like surround sound. Vizio 3D TV Will try and check on regular Fire Stick tomorrow. Don't have Alpha so couldn't check that movie. Threw Independence Day 4K disc into player and regular movie showed HDR10 for video and Bitstream for audio. When commentary was turned on, audio switched to Dolby Audio. Featurettes were not on 4K disc. Not sure if any of this helps. Last edited by erlinmeyer; 02-18-2021 at 08:02 PM. Reason: added 4K disc info |
