And if you can spare an additional $50 over $500 ($549.99 on sale); or $120 more than the Galaxy A52 5G ... there is the Galaxy S20 FE 5G (Fan Edition) with the Snapdragon 865G.

I bought a iPhone 12 Pro Max 256K today.
I could've traded in my iPhone XS Max 256K and got a couple of hundred off. But I decided to keep it and use it like an iPod. At work I'll bring the old phone for music, music videos and a few concert videos, and leave my actual phone in my room. This new phone is pretty fricken nice! |

The iPhone 12 Pro Max is the top phone when it comes to sheer prowess power (performance) and cameras, congrats! How much is 256K?
Because that phone in Canada (with tax) is approx. two thousand loonies. It's for people who drive Tesla and Porsche. |

Extra: We're talking around $500 US range here; that is a lot of phone for the money. It's not an iPhone 12 Pro Max or a Galaxy S21 Ultra, but it packs a lot of goodies for a lot less, be it the 2020 model or the one coming up beginning of October 2021. It's more for people who drive Honda or Toyota or Ford pick-up ... electric of course. |

My Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus has been having some moderate/severe issues lately. It's tolerable but annoying enough that I want a new phone lol. I'm greedy though, I at least want something comparable but unless I get a massive raise I know I can't afford another $1000+ phone right now. Best bet is probably to wait a bit and see if I can find a better job or at least get my tax return so I can afford a moderately expensive purchase. 7.6 inches sounds like a dream come true, even if those phones are ridiculously expensive.

I'm looking at my contract and see my phone is $1740. The amount financed is $1317.01. I'm guessing they gave me $400 to bring it back at the end of the contract. The monthly payment is $54.88 for the phone alone.
Not too bad to have a nice iPhone! |

My carrier is Metro PCS and it's a thought lol. Just want to sit on it a bit because unlike a lot of people, I tend to keep a phone for about 3 years. Why pay this small fortune for a phone and get less than 3 years out of it? Looks like August 27th is the release date for the Fold 3 and the fact that I want the T-Mobile $40 a month prepaid plan isn't going to make T-Mobile want to help me lol. Just hope I can get a good trade in price on my current phone, doubt I should tell them my current phone is having moderate issues lol. Might not matter much, doubt BB employees can tell, anyway.

I'd heard that the iPhone 13 may be difficult to get, Apple said they won't keep up to demand this time. So I figured I'd get one anyway, 9 months after my contract had expired. |

IF I can get it to work, this is what I want
Trade in Note 10 + for $450 off $1800 purchase price, so phone payments are $40 a month instead of $58. Get Kickstart, which is $35 a month as opposed to the $40 a month I pay now for T-Mobile so that takes a bit of the sting out of paying $40 a month for a new phone. The current phone actually has a few issues but I'll keep those to myself. Release date of 8/27 means I'll go talk to BB about it next Saturday. That is, assuming I chat to their salespeople online and get all of this approved. $75 a month is a bit high but for basically the same phone coverage I get now plus a substantial phone upgrade, it'd be worth it. Not sure I'll actually miss the S-Pen, I only use it when I need a stylus at work for the scanning devices lol. |

That's a nice break. Because the 14 Series will have most likely the stuff Apple people want, and the 13 Series most likely not. I don't know; I keep my phones for longer than a year or two. But things in the phone business they do go real fast...chips (SoC) get smaller and smaller (4nm) and from year to year are on average 30-35% more powerful. They can overheat too, with the toughest games...some Snapdragon 888. Apple is way ahead with their chips, A14 Bionic (5nm). ...4nm in 2022. In the newest iPads...M1X chip. On the Android side there is the Snapdragon 898 SoC (Samsung process chip) coming up soon (4nm). Some folks want the latest and most powerful chips, so they change their cars and their phones every year...people with good bank accounts. "The Kirin 9000 features a 24-core Mali G78 GPU, which Huawei claims is 52 percent faster than the Adreno 650 GPU on the Snapdragon 865 Plus. ... The A14 Bionic has 4 cores and offers a 30% better performance compared to the old A12 Bionic in the iPad Air 2019." A lot of people buy last year top guns for much less when on sale (I'm one of them). They are not top guns any longer real fast but they cost less. And you sacrifice one year of iOS update. The phone business is one that accelerates very fast...like a Tesla. And after few years (3 with Androids, 5 with iPhones...in general, more or less), you don't get updates anymore and security patches. The support is gone, like a Blu-ray player and its firmwares updates (Oppo was the best in that department, Panasonic not). Anywhoo the iPhone 12 Pro Max rates @ the top on the ladder of smartphones, with a price to match. Most people can't afford. I could do an average survey of the top guns in smartphones (from say $1,200 to $3,000 US dollars), but the average film buff here would skip reading. ...From $200 to $600 is good enough for the majority, like 4K Blu-rays steel book and LG-Sony OLED TVs...on Black Friday sales. Just for fun ... Last edited by LordoftheRings; 08-22-2021 at 05:55 PM. Reason: Typo |

I chatted with a BB bot today prior to Saturday's appointment. I think I'll be able to trade in my 3 year old Note 10 Plus for $450 including bonus. So that would make the Flip 3 (I believe) $950 + tax or about $50 a month. If I can also get in on the Kickstart Sprint plan for $25 a month, that would be pretty good for a brand new 7.6" phone at $75 a month and then it'll be a $25 a month plan after 24 months, which is nice. Still have to hope they don't notice my current phone is having moderate issues while I'm trading it in lol.

![]() ![]() https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_gal...ures-10906.php It's like the limo of portable smartphone/tablets. It's potent...inevitably. And, it is expensive in Canada (unlocked) ... $2,410 cdn for the 512GB | 12 GB model (not including tax). For that money you can buy a top gun 65" Smart OLED TV ... that's a bigger screen than a 7.6" OLED one. ...Can't put it in your pocket though, and can't take pictures with it ... yet. ![]() |

Ok, I might as well ask: Which phone would you buy if the store gives you $500 credit and you can only spend it on a phone?...Like right now...in US dollars.

The Flip 3. As much as I want the Fold, $50 a month is a bit too rich (especially since I don't know whether or not I got the job I interviewed for today). Actually I'd probably be better off waiting a bit now but I will add this caveat - if I get the job I'll just pay off whichever phone I get and call it a win lol. I've had this phone for 3 years, that's a lot more patient than some people are with replacing phones.

That's a pretty cool phone, much more compact and still with a large screen when opened (6.7"). Plus you get that cool secondary mini screen when flipped. I think we're going to see more of those in the next coming years. |

Yes, and with the latest most powerful processor (outside A14 Bionic and along with Kirin 9000 and Dimensity 1000+) ... the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 (just below the 888+ and the upcoming 898) ...
Full specs, brand new review (6 days ago), and pictures (in 3D too) ... https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_gal...3_5g-11044.php Last edited by LordoftheRings; 08-27-2021 at 01:14 AM. |
