Fold 3 looks like the one I would get if I were rich lol, Flip 3 looks a lot more affordable. $75 was too much when I was paying Verizon, I'd be more on board with it if I were positive I were keeping my next phone for more than 3 years lol.

They are not perfected yet; there is a space between the two flip/fold sides when closed.
And, there is small "trench" you can see and feel in the middle when they are open.

Plus the cameras are not state-of-the-art, obviously or they wouldn't be affordable for all.
The flipper is more mainstream than the folder, and the small OLED screen on the outside is a 1.9" size...cool, very.
_____

Alright, on the regular "what we're used to" in normal life for the last ten years plus or so ...
The war between the two toppest top guns ...
The battle of the two masters ... just to start with, because it goes much much deeper behind the lines and all that "controlled" jazz ...

Going to get the Fold 3, going to put $400 down, get the $400 promo value off and $450 for trading in my Note 10 Plus. $23 a month payments + $25 a month for Sprint prepaid works for me.

What I called the "trench" above is also called the crease (the bar running in the middle of the screen). When I was @ the store you can barely see it and feel it in both the flipper and the folder. It's there for sure and @ first without being used to it your fingers can sure feel it; it's not as smooth as a regular phone. But that comes with the cool factor territory, and with time it won't matter much anymore. And Samsung I'm sure will improve it further in future generations.

Another point of the flipper is the battery; it is small so the time is shorter.
And, the charger that comes with it (15W) is slow by today's standards.

The folder doesn't have the same sophisticated cameras as in the S21 Ultra.

Here's the full scoop ... on the flipper ...

Congrats on what is the smartphone's choice of some of the pro expert reviewers.
It was the favorite in 2020-21 by some top notch smartphones classy youtubers pro reviewers.

Here's a good "sense and sensibility" review ... highly recommended full reading ...

"That is actually one of the few easy titles we can confidently slap on the Z Fold3 - it is the best, most feature-rich and all-encompassing foldable currently on the market. Samsung took the already excellent Z Fold2 and refined it further, adding things like IPX8 and S Pen support to the mix. It is, effectively, a representation of the very best this particular new form factor is currently capable of, and in an almost hard-to-believe turn of events, Samsung is actually selling it to users, not just showcasing it at an event somewhere. With aggressive pricing, pre-order bundles, deep carrier subsidies and a lower MSRP, no less. It's almost surreal really."

* It's a little too rich for me (the price's steep slope). I would need to be a corporate engineer or an architect of international skyscrapers to "fold" that one in my Italian suit's top inside pocket.

Between the Fold 3 and Flip 3 did you flip (toss) a coin?

Well it's an amazing phone, my only issue with it so far (other than not being able to figure out how to do split screen lol) is the battery life. So I've been looking into power banks to help with days where I need more juice than usual. Would this work?

https://www.amazon.com/INIU-Portable...0581038&sr=8-4

Never had a power bank before so I don't know anything about them, are they just devices you attach to the phone so the internal battery feeds off their juice?

I haven't dropped it yet but I know that'll happen and I do run with it so I probably need to get an Otter Box type case for it soon. Any suggestions?

Just for fun; how much it costs to make the Apple iPhone 12 Pro (Dolby Vision HDR screen and shooting video in Dolby Vision HDR) ...

I mentioned previously regarding the battery of the Flip 3. It's smaller (3300 mAh) and of course you won't get as many hours as some other models with a larger battery (say 4000 to 5000 mAh) with screens between 6.1 and 6.8".
Plus you have dual screens (6.7" and 1.9")...so depending of your use.

Set the power saving mode to ON (drop down menu), or/and set the refresh rate to 60 Hz.
Or reduce the display's brightness (say to 20% or less).

I never used an external power bank before; it adds to the cost of the phone and it's one more gadget to carry around.

And I just don't know about which cover protector is best for it.

As for split screens ...

You can always return your phone (it's two weeks in Canada; I don't know in the US).

First world's 200MP sensor on a smartphone ...
▪︎

Megapixels count (hardware) is not the full picture; you also need to process the pictures (software). That's why Apple iPhones with their A14 Bionic chip have all the power to process and deliver quality photos ... in general. Their Pro and Pro Max models are professional tools for photographers.

But 200MP is a lot of detail possible ..., and all of it inside a smartphone.
My first digital camera had 7.3 Megapixels, and no Dolby Vision HDR video mode.

Thanks, turned on Power Saving, looks like it will help a lot. Just amazed me Sunday-Thursday how much battery it was draining, even mainly being used in "closed screen" mode. Starting to learn how to do split screen, including the fact that apps like Netflix can't do it but Hulu can, which is kinda weird.
