It's the year of ultra large screen TVs and leading the pack in screen sizes is Samsung with the 98" QN90A and Sony's 100" X92 4K HDR TVs.
We have both of these beautiful TVs in our a/v showroom next to each other. Youtube channel owners, Spare Change and Whisper Status 74 stopped by and filmed the open box video and first impressions. Here's their videos in reverse chronological order. The top two videos ware filmed yesterday: |

Robert, I'm curious - do these 98 inch or 100 inch TVs sell that well? There must be some people buying them if the manufacturers keep making them...
But then again just a couple of years ago 65 inch TVs were considered big. It's amazing how the market can change in a short time. |

Yes, considering the cost and size, Samsung's 987QN90A and Sony's 199X92 sell very well. So they are not high volume sellers, but we do sell more than expected.

People who are buying 98" TVs are rich and have deep pockets because, an average consumer couldn't afford it, especially now during the pandemic, when food and the cost of living is steadily increasing. Those 98" TVs are being manufactured and catered only for the wealthy folks who can afford them. Some people can't even afford to buy a 65"TV, lest a 98".

We've sold 14 of Samsung's and Sony's 98" - 100" TVs so far, and most of the buyers are not wealthy.
If the TV matches your use and is affordable, which in this case would be higher your normal TV budget; go for it and enjoy the exceptional entrainment for many years ahead. |

Doesn't always come down to who's richer than someone else, either. There are people who don't want to spend too much on a TV because they have a family to care for. When you have multiple children, pets, etc. you have to think harder about your money and how you divide your budget. Meanwhile, to a guy who lives on his own, even if he isn't rich he may be willing and able to spend more on a top of the line TV because he doesn't have to pay for anyone else like the family in the above example. It all comes down to circumstances, interests, priorities and such and is a personal choice to make. I don't judge other people for how much they want to spend on consumer electronics. If they can afford it and it makes them happy, good for them. |

![]() 14 is more than the number of Best Buy reviews for one of those 100 inch TVs (I think I saw 2 reviews on one of them) Honestly, they seem fairly priced for the size you get, there's nothing on the market like those 98 or 100 inch TVs. |

You currently have an 85" 4K TV and now you want to get a 100". If Sony or LG would come out with a 130" screen a year or two later, you are going to want to buy that too! When will you be satisfied? I don't try to keep up with the Joneses, and I don't need to have the latest and the greatest because I'm not trying to impress anybody.

I have an 86” but a 98” would fit much better on the wall/with the space I have. Once prices drop enough, I am sure I will jump, unfortunately by that time the decision between the 98” or 85” OLED may come into play |
