Default Can't get any receiver sound from Android TV anymore

I have a Sony 900E and an Onkyo NR575. I can get sound from all my HDMI-connected devices, except my TV's Android system, which has to send the sound over ARC.

Everything is set how I remember it. In the TV settings, Output is set to "Audio system" instead of "TV speakers." Digital audio out is set to PCM, but I've already tried Auto 1.

I've tried two different HDMI cables in my TV and receiver's ARC ports.

If there is something I missed, I can't remember it. I haven't used the TV's Android system for over two years. Do you think the ARC on one of the devices is broken?

Edit: Also tried the other HDMI ports. Forget it. I'll just watch this movie on Windows/the website with headphones instead of the app with surround sound.

Have you tried an optical cable out for sound, instead of the ARC port.

Looks like I threw my optical cable away.

But I figured out that's it's because I had CEC turned off on my TV. When I troubleshooted, I enabled CEC on the receiver, but forgot about the TV (where it's called Bravia Sync). I have sound again. But I hate CEC, which is why I turned it off about two years ago. When I have it off, I can conveniently have the picture switch from my TV right to my monitors by simply turning off the receiver.

I might look into the optical cable option later, if I need to subscribe to some app again, since Android apps seem to be much more functional than websites. The picture of Paramount Plus looks much better on the app than on my web browser and of course has surround sound too. HDR also works better on apps than on browsers.
