I tried to use my code today but it didn't work, could be that it's not in the system yet to activate.

Still laughing at the fact that so many people think the garbage US BD is the only one in existence, while most other countries got a top-notch AVC presentation.

To be fair they’re all derived from the same master. I’d hardly call them “top notch” just barely better. The US disc is pretty notorious anyway and was mocked even in the early days of the format.

Oh man, that looked fantastic. Almost right away there's an early shot of the city with ripples of waves from the bay reflecting miles away in the glass building, and it's so granular.

From then on the whole theme of the movie gets "a big boost" from the hair and skin detail, and it makes you appreciate the hair and wardrobe work, and Bale's performance even more imo. Same for the suit and furniture fabric details, the wall textures in all these restaurants and clubs... it really brings you in, so it's not just a great presentation it feels like it makes the movie even better in general.

The business card scene is everything you hope it would be.

Great color, shadow, skin tones and lighting throughout. Some really noticeable glints in people's eyes. You know what kind of movie it is, and it's that kind of movie. Grain is there, but well managed, so I think even grain haters won't feel like they're getting something too coarse.

Never get tired of this movie and always get something new from it.

It's just a bad encode on Lionsgate's part. Bit-starved MPEG-2 was never a good idea. Either way the UHD is still going to blow all previous releases out of the water. I'll probably have to import it since Lionsgate's local distributor here (Roadshow, who took over from Sony a while back) is in financial strife and is only bothering with new releases that are guaranteed to sell

edit: It's $26NZD ppd from WowHD, so I just pulled the trigger. Come at me Pat
