My negative about the Xbox One is form factor.

Even with this new elite I don't think it will make a difference. Your hands can literally cramp after 6-8 hours of play. The face plate on Xbox One is simply not ergonomically efficient.
Cant stand PS controllers for more than an hour. Main reason Im going for an Xbox One because I love 360 controllers.

The new PS controllers or older ones?

With this new Elite, they have yet to mention the same improvements the recent Xbox One controller got which is No clicky sounds from the bumbers & buttons.

Wonder if that improvement will make it over to the Elite..

The PS3 ones but it doesnt matter. The analogue sticks are in the wrong place for me and that applies to the PS4 ones as well of course.

Dedided to look into Scuff.
No offence but these look cheap!
The tweaks to the hair trigger locks need a pin?

Sure they improve/help gamers pull off sweet moves but the Elite looks & sounds like a much more "reliable" controller that ain't gonna break.

It baffles me that people here are speaking so ignorantly about the Xbox One Elite Controller. The XOEC isn't for casual players or those only willing to spend as much as the original costs.

The XOEC is a high performance controller for professional (eSports), hardcore gamers and collectors. GameStop UK has them up for 99.97 (with shipping included) which is cheaper than importing via Amazon US for UK/Europe residents.

The PlayStation controllers weren't made for humanly hands but the 4th iteration definitely feels comfortable when being compared to the Xbox and Nintendo controllers that have the left analogue stick on the left top.

Does the headset that comes with the Xbox One work with Scuf controllers?
I was under the impression that you couldn't use headsets with 3rd party controllers.

Edit

You mean scuf only?

I don't know what size audio Jack they use. Being a custom company I would guess 3.5mm

The audio jack on the new Xbox One controller builds & the Elite use the "standard" 3.5mm

As far as I know, No third party company has made a 2.5mm headset Jack. Instead, MS wanted you to buy their adaptor. Well with the new controllers that adaptor is no longer needed.

All 3rd party ones should work directly.

Is it rechargeable out of the box? with this price it better be

I'll probably just pick up the Halo Guardians (blue) controller, but still need to hear users feedback on the elite first

At $169.99 + 12% tax ($20.40) = $190.39 is a great deal!

I played around with the Elite controller at PAX here in Seattle. Nice, but not for me, too confusing with the amount of buttons and the price is ridiculously high. I would not be surprised if they drop the price to $99.99 or $129.99 within a few months of release.

yeah that app video help me made up my mind, way too many details that I don't pay attention to, anyway

and apparently it STILL comes with AA batteries? so you still need to pay for the charge and play kit.. that's a deal breaking with that price

Not sure what you mean about the batteries but the app & the mapping stuff ain't why I'm after this thing. I posted the vid cuz some maybe interested in it. The build quality on current controllers is IMO Xbox One's biggest weakness. Heck, I'm gonna not use the paddle buttons & just swap out the d-pad for the circular one & keep all buttons at default.

I got a $15 plug n play battery pack which you just attach to the side of the console where the side USB is. It uses pass through which is awesome cuz the USB is now accessible from the front of the console as well as the 2 battery packs in the front. They take 20 minutes to charge = 8+ hours gaming time each.

I don't really see it dropping to $100. This controller isn't going to be for everyone and they're not trying to have it appeal to everyone. I'll be getting just because I play a lot of MP in FPS so it should help, and I like it better than the Skuff option.

Negative reviews state the battery doesn't stay inside the charger. This is true when the battery is fully charged. It pops out from the clip & if you try to pop it back in, the clip will release the battery. This is so the battery doesn't overcharge.

Which is especially weird, since Boogie barely can play console games for long periods of time, let alone competitively. He's the last person I'd listen to when it comes to a competitive controller. It's like listening to a McDonald's fry cook review the tools a five star chef uses.
