Lethal Agent by Kyle Mills.
It’s the latest in the Mitch Rapp series.

Great choices. I love the Dark Tower series and the Books Of Blood are incredible. I've read all six volumes.

Been years since I've read the whole thing, so I'm re-reading The Andromeda Strain before the sequel, The Andromeda Evolution, comes out on Tuesday.

No, it's not based on any notes or drafts that were discovered, but was commissioned by his estate to celebrate the novel's 50th anniversary. It's written by Daniel H. Wilson, the author of Robopocalypse, because of his background in science. I'm hoping it's a worthy follow-up.

I was really close to finishing ...And Another Thing and finally gave it up since it annoyed me and in the end Douglas didn't finish the story. Hopefully you experience something better with this one.

Planning on doing the same myself, big fan of Crichton!

False Dawn by John Gray. Not the same chap who wrote about men being from Mars and Women from Venus. God no.

Got it this afternoon and just finished reading it. Holy. Crap. It was so good. The callbacks to Crichton's original are really well done, while Wilson also takes the story in unexpected directions and sprinkles in some nice surprises. The third act especially is just crazy-good with a riveting climax. This was as much a page-turner for me as The Andromeda Strain.

About halfway through with Caliban's War and am really loving The Expanse series so far! Has anyone read the novellas? Just wondering how important those are for fleshing out the main series.

Finished Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? There is no neon, nor constant rain that I remember, just dust and grime. A false God, sheep, goats; well a dead goat anyway, and a toad. Rachael is kinda slutty and cold, an a*hole too. There is more depth to a character named Isidore, a chickenhead (low IQ), than Roy, its wife and the other Nexus-6 androids, except maybe for Pris. Its circuits are wonky, like one of those crazy women you shouldn't sleep with but do anyway. Reads like a true detective novel, and the syfy isn't so futuristic that it detracts from the story. Short read, and I recommend it if you're a fan of the movie, so you can watch that movie in your head instead of the monstrosity Ridley Scott and pals came up with.

I'd view them as separate but I probably should reread the book. It is a shame he died before the movie came out. Dick writes some interesting stories. I've read a number of his short stories and one was odd about elves which is a stand out for him since he never wrote anymore about elves.
