What are you asking?

A blu will always play at 1080p. The question is, does your display support full 1080p? Or is it 720p/1080i? If your display is 1080p, you get whats on the disc

i dont think he has a 1080p tv so hes asking is its set on source direct will it display 1080p as opposed to auto detect it would downgrade 1080p to whatever his tv is.

As far as i know..no it wont whatever the highest resolution your tv supports is what it will play at.
