so the Rockets traded Harden for basically Victor Oladipo and a ton of draft picks?...terrible trade for Houston...this is not like the Nets/Celtics trade involving Garnett and Pierce for draft picks
with the Celtics trade Garnett and Pierce were at the very end of their careers so the picks were much more valuable...with Houston the picks won't mean as much because KD, Kyrie and Harden are in their primes and will be a championship contender for the next 3-5 years |

So, Kyrie used a national tragedy to essentially play hooky, and Harden quits on his team, calls them trash, and gets rewarded for it?
Seriously, I'm taking a break from the NBA. I'm just done with this current player "empowerment". I'm going to direct my energies towards more spiritually-fulfilling pastimes, like underground hot Latina pillow fights. Big props to Boogie, though. ![]() |

I sincerely hope the Nets never win a title now. I knew Harden would get what he wanted. I never believed he was interested in the 76ers.
Harden and Kyrie are nothing but ego maniacs. Harden is an arrogant diva who’s based his whole game on whistles and like Stephen A Smith said, Kyrie thinks he’s on a higher plane of intelligence with his pretentious self righteous crap. The Nets have already won the Eastern Conference. Only injuries or virus protocol (maybe Kyrie’s antics) can stop them. The rest of the East have all been unofficially eliminated. I really hope the Lakers repeat. |

Brooklyn may win, they may implode and never develop chemistry. I just don't like the quitting and holding teams hostage thing that clearly works. I love Durant so whatever happens, happens. Lakers vs Nets would be fun and would be a ratings bonanza. Plus I want to see KD vs Lebron again just for the fun of it. The lasting image is KD hitting that big 3 on Lebron. |

Pretty fair analysis and I have nothing to add, except for I hate the idea of giving a quitter like Harden what he wanted... in a perfect world, he should have been shipped to some place like Utah, Minnesota or Toronto, and let him rot there until he retires... |

If he continues to be a distraction I could see BKN trading him. They don't even need a third superstar, KD and Harden are enough to lead the team if they have solid core of role players, bench behind them. Its funny, can't happen this soon, but saw memes of Russ for Kyrie trades to reunite the OKC trio. Lakers with another blowout win tonight. This years team is going to be tough to beat if they stay healthy |

What team in their right mind was going to give away half their team for a guy who’s a ball hog, comes up small in the playoffs, can’t get along with his teammates and showed up fat to start the season and basically quit on his team? ...draft picks and a total rebuild was the only option. |

Damn the Nets literally just recovered from that Celtics deal and they jumped right back into the hole picks wise. I guess atleast this time the players aren't completely washed. However the mental makeup is pretty shaky - Kyrie isn't even showing up.

I like giving the benefit of the doubt because a lot of times you don’t really know the situation. Hypothetically he could have had a good reason but what’s been reported and how he comes off shows he only cared about getting his way. It seems to be the case with all the players who want out of a team. Like others have said they could trade him anywhere. I know it’s not really possible to keep him out of spite and there’s not many teams willing to give up worthwhile assets...but he quits and they basically sent him to the NBA Finals. ![]() |

Ben Simmons + picks from Philly would have been the better option...as far as Harden, people forget his early years playing with KD and Westbrook in OKC...he won 6th Man of the Year and wasn't the ball hog he became in Houston...Houston enabled him to become the iso player he is now...Harden is a very willing passer and decent rebounder as well
the narrative that Harden can only play 1 way is wrong |
