argentina was my favorite before the WC, because no one wants the trophy more than them, plus they're going to play every game pretty much at home, given the amount of people they brought to qatar, but they aren't in good form and IMO they're a couple of levels below france or brazil, football wise.
having said that, they've got so much heart they can beat anyone, and those argie fans are amazing. the 4 quarter finals are going to be pretty interesting, though my two picks to watch are the argie game, and the love-hate game that's england-france. this is the supreme test for southgate and these english players. |

If I was a machine I would pick Brazil. But I only have a heart inside a human body & soul; so I pick Argentina. Anyway it should be very high fever starting super soon; it's like a big wave coming up our way, like Avatar 2 in 3D, two days before the grand finale. |

Anything can happen in a World Cup, and it just did, again.
The biggest of the biggest favorite team, Brazil, has been eliminated on penalty kicks. Nobody expected that, nobody (me first). Screenshot_20221209_105641_Chrome.jpg ![]() |

its crazy, though like I said there are not great teams left in international football, even brazil or france can be beaten on any given day by at least 15 teams in world football.
tomorrow is the day for the southgate boys to be another lost generation or to graduate as a team of men. If I were Southgate Id go all guns blazing, France is a superior team so they've got nothing to lose. What would be pathetic would be to play negatively and still go out. England has players to be aggressive, but I've always rated southgate as a coward. Still like today has shown us, anything is possible. |

That was something else today. Everything that was unpredictable happened.
If tomorrow is anything of the same all the supercomputers of the world and all the top best expert sport analystes will need to be reprogrammed and back to school for reassessing the various effects of the sport between different environments and states of human minds. Simply put nobody could have predicted the unknown. Screenshot_20221209_143920_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20221209_130504_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20221209_141508_Chrome.jpg ![]() |

I'm not very good @ predicting in football. I thought Portugal would win it.
And neither the Supercomputer; not better than I. In less than 30 minutes we have England vs France. I still think that "Les Bleus" will wipe out England. We'll see. ![]() |

I think it's fair to say that Morocco is the miracle team here so far.
And Brazil would be the deception team. Or Croatia the surprise team. Screenshot_20221210_130635_Google.jpg Go Argentina Go Messi Go! |

I thought England deserved a bit more against France, they always get the worst refereeing against them in world cups, but france is a very powerful team, the best IMO. England need a more daring manager, not because of what they did today, I thought they weren't conservative, but in the long run they need a more progressive and braver manager.
Hard to predict whats going to happen next. I was rooting for Argentina, but after their shameful display against the dutch Im firmly in the ABA camp (anyone but Argentina). not that logical predictions are coming true in this world cup but france should win it (now watch morocco beat them on Wednesday) against Croatia in a repeat of the last WC final. only a week before the tournament ends, Im going to miss it once its finished. Ive got used to a certain routine every morning-early afternoon |
