If you dig the mood/atmosphere and you are ok with not understanding everything, then yeah it's great. I prefer the 1st a bit, but I've seen all three now and even the third is not bad at all! Just depends on your preference I guess.

The DVD release for No Escape has some audio issues, so they will be issuing replacement discs. The Blu-ray release is unaffected.

In other news, apparently they did a DVD release for No Escape. Huh.

I’d be shocked if that happens. They never followed through on The Unnamable Blu-ray and that 5.1 track was totally borked.

What are some of your most anticipated Unearthed releases? Mine are (obviously) the August Underground Trilogy, Calamity of Snakes, Christmas Cruelty!, and Invitation Only. Anyone heard if there’s a chance that Flowers, Flowers 02, and the Japanese Guinea Pig films might one day get a blu release here in the states? I know the two Phil Stevens films can be had in BD-r format, but what about an official pressing?

Hilarious House of Frightenstein, easily. I'd never heard of Unearthed until I saw that announcement. I need to own this series on an HD format, complete with the music segments.

I don't know, but based on Unearthed's films in the database, I think all of their releases might be region free. There isn't a single locked one that I can see, and most are entered as being region free.

Is Calamity of Snakes gory? Also what language is it supposed to be in? I see DVDs and stuff but they only seem to be in English.

Since it has a cruelty free cut, I assume there's some real animal violence included. Is it just snakes getting chopped up or is there more?

I read some reviews and it sounds like literally every bad thing that can be done to a snake happens in this movie.

Recall what happened to that poor river turtle in Cannibal Holocaust. Switch to snakes. Now amplify that violence tenfold. It’s a good movie, but I don’t appreciate so many innocent reptiles being killed for the sake of art. I’ll still buy the blu, I just won’t watch the real animal killings. I’ve seen the original cut and once was enough.

That is extremely bad way of thinking. They are animals and do not deserve to be killed for sake of a movie...

I agree with that. I hate how these movies did this. If there was one or two scenes where a snake unfortunately was hacked for real (like in Friday the 13th), I can at least stomach to see it. But if this film goes as far as people are saying, then yeah, I think I'll stick to the cruelty free cut.

But leaving those scenes out and pretending it didn't happen doesn't fix that it did happen.

Indiana Jones might possibly be a fan of this Calamity of Snakes film... chalk this up as another 80s movie I've never heard/seen before.

Yeah, I think I remember reading somewhere that hundreds of snakes are killed in this movie. I'll probably give this one a pass as well.
