Just popped this in and watched it for the first time last night. I watched it while high on cannabis, and I'm honestly still not sure if that was a good idea, or a terrible one. But holy f***. This is one of the most visceral movies I've ever seen.
Even just the opening title card is one of my favorite scene transitions ever. Connie ripping his brother out of his therapy session, having that little crying moment together, synthesizer kicks in, then the movie title appears... and the electronic music just gets deeper and more primal as it suddenly cuts to a close-up of them wearing those creepy masks inside of a bank. What an absolutely chilling and foreboding movie opening. I've never seen anything like it. The ending is very heartbreaking too. Throughout the chaos and the insanity of it all, you almost forget who the victim is in the whole thing. It's an absolutely brilliant, wild, and intense movie, and I think the musical score just brings it to a whole new level. Incredible film (and I love that I can properly call this movie a "film" since it was shot on 35mm). |

Just watched this on Netflix and it didn’t look great. Lots of visible pixelation/compression that I normally don’t see. The grain isn’t the problem, I mean I was streaming it which is part of the problem but hopefully they rescan/remaster this at some point
