I'm pretty impressed that there are several Japanese films that come with English subtitles on BD. And debating of just buying the HK imports but will need to talk to my contact at Taiseng. Curious if there are plans to bring out older classics or focus on new titles.

I still have yet to try the Taiseng Blu's. but I'm curious if a lot of the older films, if the prints are good enough for a Blu-ray transfer. Especially the older Stephen Chow films.

Anyway, my wish list:

hi
legitimate distributor"Kam&Ronson" has released Jackie Chans "Police story" 1, 2, and 3 on blu ray if thats what you mean by Supercop (1 and 2), though the picture quality for the first film is not that good it pretty much looks like the "Dragon Dynasty" dvd and sound quality is bad sounds fuzzy. the other two are pretty good in picture quality
and sound quality the third movie "Police story 3 Super cop" is uncut all
of them have the original Cantonese language track in Dolby True HD 7.1 with English subtitles.

alsoThe Accidental Spy has come out blu ray it was released by the legitimate distributor"Kam&Ronson" i own itand its uncut the picture quality is great in my opinion as is the sound.has original Cantonese language in Dolby Digital, DTS HD MA 5.1 has English subtitles as well as others. the corny dubbing is gone. it playsin the U.S.if you want to get it check out http://www.dddhouse.com http://www.yesasia.com/us/en/home.html.
You can get them at good at http://www.dddhouse.com
and http://www.yesasia.com/us/en/home.html

I hope this helps

Well I did not see two of my recent favorites on your list, unless I'm missing something. . .

Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan

The Good, the Bad, the Weird

Well I guess I see what I was missing after looking at the original post date.

I really hope we get more updates on asian blus. I want to know if there is a planed release for Armour of God 1 or a possible 2 movie boxed set as opposed to just getting the second film on its' own.

I'm kinda tempted to get the Police Story boxed set and Flash Point, but I don't know how good yesasia is at fulfilling orders.

hi
i ordered from yesasia before and i personally didn't have a problem exceapt for
the wait. You can checkout http://www.dddhouse.com there prices are in my experience cheaper.

i would get the legitimate distributor"Kam&Ronson" "Police story" blu ray box set only if your die-hard Jackie Chan fan like me, because the first film picture quality is the same as the DVD and sound quality is bad it sounds very fuzzy, but the second
and third film are of much better quality for picture and sound and the third film
is uncut all three blu rays have the original Cantonese language track in Dolby True HD 7.1 with English subtitles and can play in the U.S. so it was worth it to me.

I just ordered Flash point on blu ray from dddhouse I have not received it yet so
i cant tell how good the quality of picture and sound are yet.

I dont know if "Kam&Ronson" is going to release the first "Armour of God"
they did release the blu ray of the "Armour of God 2" in my opinion they should
have released both of them on blu ray instead of just one. hopefully
they will release "Armour of God" in the future.

I hope this helps
Samuel

Exclamation avoid The Returner on blu ray poor quality

The Returner is a awesome movie
The Returner was released on blu ray by "bit wel" i would avoid it completely
i almost bought it on blu ray iam glad i contacted another member first before
buying it. apparently it is absolutely horrible they took full screen version of
the film and made it to look wide screen so you end up stretched out characters
they look like they are fat and picture quality is really bad as is the sound.
so if come across The Returner on blu ray and it the distributor is "bit wel"
avoid at all costs.hopefully Columbia Tri Star and Sony Pictures will re release it
on blu ray

special thanks to the members AnimeOnBlu and sschen for
the advice.

just wanted to give a heads up.

Thanks for the advice. I'm a big Jackie Chan fan and have been wanting to get these films, but I've been gun-shy on getting them until I got more info.

BTW, how is dddhouse on there commitment to order fulfillment? I've seen other members have had trouble with them over the past few months.

hi
i glad i could help you
yeah i did have some problems at first with order fulfillment
but that was because i was using my PS3 and you limited to what you can do
on one online, so when i used an actual computer i could finally place my order.
the most annoying thing about the payment process is that you have re enter your credit 3 times and they charge hidden international fees that do not show up on the total before you place your order or on your order confirmation i found that annoying so i have to keep a close eye on my bank account and you will have to too so you make sure you have a few dollars extra because of this fee.
but once you get past that it the order was confirmed and few days later they shipped it out and the int fee. there shipping is not as fast as they claim to be they it should take 5 to 7 days to get your items but iam still waiting for mine to come they do say though it might take longer with customs so thats probably the reason for the delay. so it was annoying for me but its something i can get use to once i
figured it out. just keep a close eye on your bank account for the int fee and the full price of the items you buy. so if you dont want to
put with this i would recommend http://www.yesasia.com/us/en/home.html

once i get my items i will let you know how long it takes. then i can make
a personal judgement on dddhouse.

Thank you for your reply and hopefully it can help you out.
Samuel

Ooh thats a good one. I'd love to see that on Blu. Dragon Dynasty did a great job with their DVD hopefully theyll do the same if/when they release it on Blu!

Fortune Star has a few rare mid 90's Jet Li flicks Id like to own on Blu: My Father is a Hero, Once Upon a Time in China & America and Black Mask. Hopefully they release those soon.

And I hope the recent news of the Weinstein Bros. re-acquiring their Miramax catalogue will free up a lot of the Asian titles theyve sat on for many many years.
