In Die Hard 6, John McClane goes up against his greatest enemy yet -- Bruce Willis's indifference.

Whose "brilliant" idea was it to hire John Moore and Skip Woods to direct and write Die Hard 5, when none of their previous movies had ever really been considered good?

I really liked the idea of 5. 4 was about him reconnecting with his daughter and become a parent. 5 was supposed to be his son. The plot, The story and the ending (Extended) were great.

The Camera work, Quick cuts (seriously does a single shot in the film last more than 3 seconds? It gives me a migraine) and the action set pieces, Willis apathy, the directing, dialogue and Jai Courtney's performance were all a giant pile of crap. They had a good idea. Every bit of the execution was butchered.

Willis probably wanted a director he could control, or at least one who wouldn't question a thing Willis does (or doesn't do).

Regarding screenwriters, considering how low on the totem pole they are and how often the suits at the top interfere, it's hard to gauge whether or not they're actually bad at their jobs. When it comes to franchise property, they are often just doing what they're told.

A few more of these sequels & I’ll be at the point where I wish the first one never existed.

Honestly, this sounded like a bad idea anyway. I think Bruce Willes has too much control and Disney is not having it. Either Bruce Willes compromises or they go full reboot. I don't think this is the end of Die Hard. Disney need to make that money back from buying Fox anyway.

I disagree! Live Free Die Hard (4) was fantastic. It's my favorite after the first one and Bruce is fully engaged in the film. I also like having the daughter in the film as well.

A Good Day To Die Hard (5) has the indifferent Bruce. The movie has action but just kind of lays there, like his remake of Death Wish and some of the other payday films he's made of late. It is the worst of the 5 films. (but the trailers always look great!)

I also enjoyed Live Free, wasn't great or top of the franchise but it wasn't as bad as folks, at the time, were making it out to be.
A Good Day was terrible though, I can't remember anything about the film other than disinterested Bruce and bland Courteney, so maybe thats for the best

Disney is just going to reboot it. Willis is washed out anyways.

Live Free certainly wasn’t the best, but you could tell Bruce was having fun during it. ADTDH was a rough viewing in every way imaginable.

& you can count me in on that too. The last one I watched was The Force Awakens a few years after it had come out, & I realised as the credits rolled I just don’t care anymore. Original trilogy & that’s it.

Disney's teeth-grindingly awful Turner & Hooch tv show did a Die Hard homage / rip-off this week, right down to the dirty vest & bare feet. Wow. Just... wow.

The other movies take existing phrases "Live Free or Die" & "A Good Day to Die" and add the word "Hard". But "Old Habits Die Hard" is already a common phrase.
