Ok, not sure which thread was best to post this question, but looking for insight into Patlabor.
I was looking at this new listing:

Seems like a good deal if you haven't jumped on anything already.
If I want to get the good stuff, do I need the above, this:

And then the movies:

to get everything? I saw the "New Files" listing, but I'm less concerned with it since it seems newer. Unless I'm wrong and that's mandatory too?

First off, we've discussed this before. But, it does have everything. Plus, it's re-authored. There were some subtitle issues on the previous releases, so the complete set has everything in one better package.

English/French/German dubs/subs.

Glad we got a proper CE for that fantastic serie.

No Dutch subs this time. Gee, I wonder why...

Universal unceremoniously dropped Seraph of the End and Arslan on the Dutch market, with only a mention in a single friggin' press release. They were only on inferior DVDs, even though the Blu-ray had Dutch subtitles.

Hmm... it's not like people from Holland watch those Chinese cartoons... eh. Screw them, they're off playing around in their windmills in their wooden shoes with bikes riding up the stairs...

It's because the idiots at Universal self-sabotaged the Dutch Seraph and Arslan release by releasing those series on DVD only and without any informed marketing activities. I don't believe any Dutch anime fan except for myself was aware that these DVDs existed, nor do I believe that the tiny subset of Dutch anime fans that buy physical media is interested in DVDs. The Blu-rays had Dutch subtitles for crying out loud.

It wouldn't surprise me if Universal sold less than 500 DVDs in total for both series.

While I personally didn't care for these two titles, nor for the Dutch subs (most Dutch anime fans prefer English subs), this kind of carelessness from Universal makes me sad.

One Punch Man is getting a Japanese dvd and bluray boxset release for the first season with eng dub and eng subtitles. Retailing at 15,000 yen.

It's 1080p with a portion in 1080i (presumably some of the special features).

As long as it comes in a side-load slipcase and not a piece-of-crap o-card slipcover, it's wonderful.

You mean a slipbox. Sideloads are still slipboxes even if they use thinner cardboard.

Should be a side-loader, just like A Silent Voice and Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale.
