The Pacific is dodgy in places (one episode in particular was like a bad soap opera) but some episodes are great and the intensity of the combat scenes is pretty much as good as anything out there.

Unfortunately not the new transfer, that release includes the 15th anniversary disc (2010) rather than the 20th anniversary disc (2015).

I've never seen it before

I guess a cheap enough disc for that then, and if I enjoy will put the new one on the wishlist.

It's worth seeking out the remastered version, if you like the movie. It's a fantastic film.

It's not an "Ultimate Hunter Edition" level disc, but there is a huge clarity improvement on the newer disc. Even improves over the HD-DVD which was the best version before the new blu.
I'm amazed you've been able to avoid the film so far, I'm sure it will impress enough to warrant a double dip (pretty cheap, it's in Amazon's 2for£10)

Amazon

Zoolander 1&2 Boxset currently £17.99... kinda good price / keeping in mind the Pt. II itself is going for about 15 quid.

I've yet to watch the sequel, however your comment has got me to reevaluate that decision. Lol

I went to see it 2 weeks ago. The screening had about 80 people there, and during the trailers they laughed at scenes from Grimsby and Fifty Shades Of Black. A fair number of them seemed to find everything funny. Then Zoolander 2 started and there were a few chuckles at the start but then, I kid you not, there was about half an hour of silence from the audience. Not one chuckle. I left after around 45 minutes. I love the first film, but the sequel is about as enjoyable as slicing your toes off individually with a butter knife. It was absolutely dire.

Add it to the list of underwhelming/unnecessary sequels;

Ted 2
Anchorman 2
Zoolander 2

I'm sure there are plenty more!

To be fair Anchorman 2 was better than those two.

Perhaps I need to rewatch it - I can only remember laughing a couple of times in the whole movie!
