I'm waiting to see if Zoom do any sales later in the week (I'm hoping for a sale on the UK Criterions that I don't have - Cul-de-Sac, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Multiple Maniacs, Burroughs, The Emigrants/New Land & Lone Wolf & Cub), but if the Zoom sales are underwhelming then I'll definitely splurge on the BFI HMV Collection. I already have Bande a Parte - it's one of my favourite movies and I can highly recommend it (source of avatar), but the rest of the movies I have titles on at the moment areThe Killing of a Chinese Bookie, Nosferatu, Rashomon and Night and the City, but if they crossover with other 5 for 30 offers which they look like they do I'll probably drop TKOACB and get another couple of blu rays from the broader range set.

Decided to grab Smokey and the Bandit 2 & 3, not exactly cheap, but cheaper. Yes, I just paid money for Smokey and the Bandit 3.

Help is available on the NHS, but bear in mind that there's a long waiting list.

I'll have to keep a closer eye on Fabulous Films releases, they seem to be releasing a lot of Universal's back catalogue, including "An American Tail", "Beethoven", "Sgt. Bilko" etc. Also some other studios stuff though, like "Arlington Road" which was originally released by Sony in the US.

I think Arlington Road has been distributed by Universal internationally, so that follows the other titles in some ways. Would be interesting to see how these stack up against the Universl ones. Are Fabulous the Prism Leisure of the blu-ray world?

It was a Polygram film that was in production when Seagram/Universal bought out the company. The US rights had already been sold to Sony but Universal took the rest of the world before winding down production (the only bought Polygram for its music division and its film division was surplus to requirements). Most of the pre-1996 library ended up at MGM/UA when they sold it off.

Just a mispricing - a few other Arrow titles were similarly priced. Also they dropped the price of the Marx Bros set by almost a tenner last week! Glitches in the system I'd bet.

I already have the original 'windowbox' edition of Ashes & Diamonds but ordered one to replace the case. Wish I could have done the same for Les Diaboliques, Bicycle Thieves and The Tin Drum...but oh well!

Ok, so I bit and bought it. Prime members here so £1.71 is a bargain. I have never watched it, know little about it but it does seem highly regarded

I don't think you can go wrong for £1.71! I've seen Kanal by Wajda and that was pretty good, I've heard better things about Ashes and Diamonds though so looking forward to watching it!

I think it's an incredible film, definitely in my top 20. £1-71 is a ridiculously cheap price for it.
