The second highest 2nd weekend since Endgame. This is performing like a Summer movie in Spring, schools are still in.

Mexico sure does love themselves some Mario, they're the highest grossing overseas market. I would guess that Japan will outgrows them after all is said and done but way to go Mexico. Mexico also helped propel JWD past $1B last year. It was huge there as well.

Damn nearly at $700m. At this point I'll be shocked if a sequel isn't greenlit.

Just pre ordered that coincidently. A return to the old trek model of different stories every week appeals. Can’t wait to watch it in 4K. I hear good things.

Back to school tomorrow but it’s done well enough to get well over 1 billion.

Well - TV shows are different! For whatever reason, I find that even TV shows I really enjoyed doesnt automatically mean I would or want to rewatch them over and over. My TV disc collection is much smaller than my movie collection. Not sure why - its partially the time commitment.

Ironically right now Im about to wrap up Twin Peaks(original show) and then will move onto Fire Walk and then the NEW Twin peaks show which I did blind buy. So there ya go. I also own and watch Firefly & BattleStar Galactica(new one).

Firefly is an easy rewatch and then you get the cool movie to wrap it up. BSG though.... first two seasons are amazingly great. Third season starts to get iffy. Final season is hard to get through. So, there is a good chance I wont watch the complete BSG series ever again.

Strange New Worlds seems really solid but I would like to try a few out first just to make sure. . Also, IIRC, its just one season thats released and Id prefer to be able to buy the entire series once it wraps up. Sucks only having season 1 on disc and then nothing else.

With the success of Mario and Sonic movie studios are going to be eyeing more game properties.

Did you understand the movie without reading the comic book?

I know your question wasn't aimed at me, but I've never read a Firefly comic book and I understood the movie Serenity just fine. I watched the show when it aired, I watched it again (in the proper order) on DVD, and then I saw Serenity in the theater. No issues.

Super Mario Bros. Now playing at a theater near me.

But didn't you wonder what happened to the "Hands of Blue" and why some people were no longer with the group?

I will buy a 3D release of this if it gets one because the visuals were amazing. Otherwise it's a pass.

Nope. Time had passed. Things change.

I'm guessing the comic book addresses these matters. Was it released before/concurrent with Serenity, and was it written by Joss Whedon?

Super Mario Bros. Featuring the voice talent of Jack (Nacho Libre) Black.

It was released before the movie but in the same year, Joss Whedon is credited for Story:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sereni...se_Left_Behind

I know there are more, but I think they take place after the movie so they are irrelevant.

This is crazy.

Sonic 1 grossed worldwide: $319,715,683 let's just round it to $320m for the sake of argument.

Sonic 2 grossed worldwide: $405,421,518 and round to $405m for arguments sake.

And Super Mario with the FIRST movie is nearly at $700m already as of right now and is poised to surpass both WW grosses of both Sonic 1 & 2 combined (should surpass both Sonic movies at $725m).

And.. bonus: Pokemon Detective Pikachu worldwide: $433,005,346 round to $433m for arguments sake.

If Super Mario Bros can reach $1.2bn it will even have surpassed the ww total of Detective Pikachu ON TOP OF both Sonic movies.

It's a monster right now. The video game movie curse is over.

I'm surprised Sony still hasn't announced a sequel to Uncharted yet.
