The movie was shot on film and on a variety of formats, including 65mm (15 perf), 65mm (5 perf), 35mm anamorphic and 35mm spherical. Over 30 minutes was shot on IMAX, and 1,483 shots were completed by multiple VFX houses in 14 weeks at 4K resolution. We applaud the filmmakers for holding out to allow our work to be showcased as was intended on the big screen. We hope we did justice to Daniel Craig’s last film as James Bond, as we strived to keep the SFX/VFX in-context with the incredibly-emotional and evocative narrative.

Want to buy No Time To Die in 4k on Amazon US (alongside Vertigo, Inglourious Basterds, Old, Luca, Big Fish, Almost Famous, The Goonies and Beetlejuice - a big order). Can someone that has bought this movie recently please tell me if it still arrives with the slipcover??? Or any of the other 4K movies I also plan to buy, really (I'm gonna post this same question on the other threads as well) Would be much appreciated. Thanks!

[Show spoiler]So Bond dies in the end. I get it. What I am thinking is that how they going to continue the franchise further? Its possible that 007 title is assigned to a new agent but how can he be named James Bond since agent Bond died and without this name James Bond how can anyone except the next movie to be part of the franchise?

I thought maybe its ambiguous ending as its Hollywood so they can always show how Bond escaped but then the director himself confirmed that Bond dies in the end (google articles).

What you guys think how they will proceed with the next Bond movie?
Race or gender swapping in in Bond's future. Stinks but Broccoli appears to want to destroy her Dad's legacy. Only time will tell.

Amazon is banking on this type of uncommitted audience. Ian Fleming isn't prevalent for this group. Neither is Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan. Hey! A bog standard arty, deconstruct the protagonist, action flick is out. Let's watch that and feel smart about ourselves (Skyfall & NTTD).

Craig wanted to kill Bond and Broccoli gushingly gave in to the actor's ego. Not unlike what Chibnall and the BBC did to Doctor Who. Let's urinate on the legacy! Those older fans don't rate.

Oh, stop it, it was a great ending fitting this story and particularly the Daniel Craig version of Bond. A series this long running needs to take risks sometimes and while not everyone will agree, clearly most people (including long running fans) like this movie.

Anyway, going back to the point mentioned a bit before, while it is disappointing but expected that there was no IMAX version on disc, I’m so happy they shot this on film. To me it is film capture which still typically looks the richest (all my favorite looking UHD discs are either vintage or new releases shot on film) even if super crisp digital capture has its appeal too (I bet Ambulance will be a showcase UHD).

Does anyone know if the IMAX version is available to own anywhere? All I know is that the 4K Blu-ray doesn't have the IMAX AR change. Just curious

I have not watched any Bond movies for several months, but I was looking at the Daniel Craig 4K Blu-ray series on my shelf and started thinking about all the James Bond movies. I have not seen all the James Bond movies (there is a total of 25 James Bond movies so far). It is my understanding that the first one is Dr. No in 1962 and the last one by an actor called Daniel Craig is No Time To Die in 2021. According to online data the 25 James Bond movies had an estimated budget of around $1.5 billion dollars combined and box office sells of over $7.6 billion dollars combined.

Daniel Craig was one of my favorite Bond actors who retired from the James Bond movie series after No Time To Die (unless through movie magic they bring him back which I doubt, both Craig and the studio would have to decide for him to come back). Therefore, I wonder if there is going to be another James Bond sometime in the future or maybe the movie series will end for good. Technically the actor that plays Bond can be any human being on the face of the earth as long as the fictional character is a British secret agent working for MI6. So just about anyone with both good acting skills and good athletic skills could be the new James Bond male character. But I would also like to see the studio consider a spin off to James Bond, called Jane Bond which has a female 007 character that works for MI6. So if there was enough demand there could be new James Bond and new Jane Bond movies with maybe once and awhile for certain movies the James Bond and Jane Bond character running into each other in the office or in the field on assignment. Just some free public domain ideals I thought I would toss out there for any studio executive that might be reading the forum.

Race swapping, maybe.

Gender swapping, nope.

Broccoli, 61, also took a firm stance about what kind of man the next Bond will be: "He should be British, so British can be any [ethnicity or race]."
